This is probably going to be my favorite nonfiction book of the year. Extremely relatable for depressives and not in a sugar-coaty way which is super refreshing.

The end of an era. I finally updated my used and abused #mysapl library card yesterday and got a new number. I‘ve had the last one burned into my brain for the last 12 years. The new designs are really cool too.

Half Price Books haul from yesterday. I‘ve been meaning to read First Wives Club for years and now she‘s mine! I also found some Bailey School Kids books. Some years ago I recollected the original series, but now I need the super specials, the Jr. series, and (not pictured) the Bailey City Monsters series too. I used to own more of these but I‘m sure they got cleaned out when I first went away to college a lifetime ago 💔 Ooh and book lights! 🤩

I hope everyone enjoyed pickle day yesterday! I finished Part of Your World which I enjoyed despite the act 3 break up. My Libby hold for Reasons to Stay Alive actually ended before I got to finish it (this always happens to me because I am always reading too many books at the same time 😅) but I was able to get a print copy from my library that I will finish today. #36by36

Didn‘t make a #36by36 update yesterday, so here‘s a twofer. I finished The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows on Monday. Nick Allen would love this book. 🖊️ I am glad I read it and am actually surprised that these are not “actual” words because I have found myself relating to so many of these, some frighteningly specific to my own experience. I hope to own it at some point in print because a lot of these concepts deserve further introspection. ⬇️

Yesterday was full of bowling and Mario Kart as Sundays tend to be 😄 So I didn‘t finish any books but I am halfway through The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows which I am enjoying as much as everyone who has recommended it thinks I will! I also found a Kensington edition of Pucking Wild at my library so I started Tess and Ryan‘s bonus epilogue yesterday too. 🥹 Almost to the midpoint of this challenge. #36by36

Finished the tagged book yesterday. It was kind of a cross between One Last Stop and What If It‘s Us with fairy tale references throughout. I did feel a little shameful about the potential plot twists I was cooking up in my brain that didn‘t end up happening. Afterward I felt like bad Amanda those characters would never!! 😆

Starting Day 2 with just over 8 hours in for #36by36. The goal for today is to finish The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers and Pumpkinheads. I actually didn‘t realize a pumpkin embroidered jacket was going to be a plot point in the first book so this kind of reminds me of the #ThingsInCommon challenge that @Clwojick did last year. It‘s so fun when you find links between reads.

Happy Friday! Finished the last 1:10:00 of the tagged book to kick off #36by36. I‘m glad I read this rec. I related to it so much. If you‘re a fellow chronic overthinker, this book will make you feel less crazy.

I think a lot of ppl are intimidated by the long trigger warning list for list one. But I think this book is on the same level as Butcher and Blackbird. After finishing the Cruella puzzle, my son and I started a Cinderella one. I couldn‘t help but think about how Cinderella has so many Halloween elements in it. There is evil, magic, a pumpkin, a black cat, and dressing up. Come on! So I took to Google wondering if anyone else thought this and came across this book which is kind of a witchy retelling of Cinderella with dirt. Fits the animal cover prompt and also completes my Goodreads goal 🎉⬇️

Feel very fortunate that my son and I were not harmed and we only took a financial hit. Kind of puts a damper on fictional spooks dealing with real life creeps, though.
