2020 stats: 2020 was good for my reading goals as I generally find fantasy worlds to be soothing escapes! Still, I'm proud of my progress towards reading more diverse books and more recent publications and I'm looking forward to more of the same in 2021. I also have plans to work with my tbr, and read the books I bought instead of abandoning them when something new and shiny crosses my path! Time to #jumpintojanuary #2020books

This year I read 71 books. Here are my favorite books of the year:
The Institute
The King of Crows
The Gentleman‘s Guide to Vice and Virtue
House of Salt and Sorrows
Six of Crows
Crooked Kingdom
The Rise of Kyoshi

How many books did you read this year and which ones were your favorites?

I got bored earlier and pulled off all the books I have that I read in 2020.
There are 20 missing that were strictly audio.

This one was a slow burn but just as I began to worry that nothing would happen, the story suddenly hit full swing. My only quibble was that I didn't really buy the romance but I enjoyed the book overall. A fun, post colonial take on the British gothic novel.

Overall I liked it, but had a few issues. It's been awhile since I read a good second chance romance, Gavin and Thea's was excellent. I didn't care for the extra thing at the end. I know it led to something else that was needed I just didn't care for how they got there.
