Stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to reading and giving this one a go! Who‘s read it? I‘ve seen nothing but amazing reviews!
Loved! I always enjoy romance novels when the characters have real issues keeping them apart, not just silly misunderstandings. This was a refreshing twist on the “marriage of convenience” trope... the main couple have already been married for years before he woos her! And the commentary on romance novels was excellent. I‘d love to see this on scene, but instead I‘ll just eagerly await the next book in the series! #romantsy
Down right adorable, I loved this and I loved Mack the most. Mack is my favorite character and I believe everyone should have a friend like him. Gavin and his wife‘s story was good and I loved it, but I looked forward more to the wit between Mack and Gavin. This book is a cute romance about a man swooning is wife all over again after learning she fakes it. This book is a cute telling of a man learning about women through romance books.
I really wanted to like this one more than I did.
The premise is such a cute, original idea and had the potential to be both hilarious and heartwarming. A MLB player, married for 3 years with twins, discovers that his wife has been keeping a big secret from him (I won‘t give it away) and suddenly his seemingly “perfect” life is upended. She kicks him out, he wants her back. Enter his teammates, who introduce him into the ⬇️⬇️
Up next and due out in a couple of weeks, a Goodreads giveaway...hope it‘s a fun one! With that cover, right??! 🤣🤷🏻♀️💋
This is a super sweet, fun romance. Gavin and Thea's marriage is in trouble and he's willing to go to any length to save it, including joining a romance book club. I liked the different perspective of this book, about repairing a relationship instead of building a new relationship. The book was really sweet, and I enjoyed the historical romance chapters interspersed throughout.
This book had so much potential! The premise of an all-male athlete secret book club reading romance novels and helping each other with their relationships is so fun but the execution was blah. None of the characters, not even our leads, ever felt like more than a caricature and I found the dialogue super unrealistic to the point of taking me out of the story.
May has been a busy month & I haven't read nearly as much as I would like but a head cold has me slowing down a bit. I guess the bonus is Yay! Forced reading time.
Oh my gosh, I loved this book so much! Everything about this was the perfect mix of realism, escapism, romance, humour....I just adored this! I‘ve recommended it to everyone and I‘m hoping there‘s a second book featuring the other two. Also, I‘m living this trend of baseball players as romantic leads!
