keys_on_fire Those pies look delish!! I love pies, but as a singleton, I end up eating the whole thing myself (which I don‘t need!) so I don‘t often have it. Wish there were more pie shops around…Good luck with your reading goals!! 3y

Loved this. 2021 somehow became my “Year of Jess Walter” due to his latest making the #TOB2021LongList and another friend being a big fan. I adored Beautiful Ruins (try the audio!!) and so I looked forward to The Cold Millions, and checked if the library had this. Yes! So I added to my #20BooksofSummer. This is amusing and comic at times, tragic and scary - scary in that way that life just sucks sometimes. But hopeful. Loved it

This was a little slow to start, but once it had me hooked, I really wanted to see how it was going to come together, and stayed up late finishing! I didn't realize that this was Burke's debut book - a pretty solid start. Looking forward to more of Samantha Kincaid's adventures in the second book. Also read 7 for #20BooksofSummer!
