Now she's drowning her pain with alcohol (she should be drinking milk) when her former partner asks her to consult on a high profile case of a serial killer dubbed "the Woodsman." Side note: when googling 'books about maids' you find some 'interesting' ones.??
"Maids" could mean servants or young girls, and young girls need milk to grow strong and healthy. In Madeline's school, out of those 12 little girls in two straight lines, I'm sure there are at least #8maidsamilking which is to say, young girls drinking their milk.
