Mehso-so

I was rather underwhelmed by this chunkster. On audio, the narrator does a fine enough job of giving a unique voice to the different characters, but at 17 hours, I need more than one voice. Our protagonist is told that there will be a murder every night, and he will embody a different person each day to solve the crime. If he succeeds, he "gets out". Parts of this are too long and repetitive. Most of the people embodied are generic stereotypes ⬇️

Though to be fair, if this man suddenly woke up in a woman's body, he might not solve the crime and just stare at his lady bits in the mirror in their rooms all day. As with other "Groundhog Day" sort of stories, I was bored for parts of this where it seemed like a lot of sameness. It earns a mediocre MEH for the premise and how it all comes together, but sometimes, even though I'm on the scenic route, ⬇️

MidnightBookGirl This remains on my TBR pile, but I probably will listen to the audio at some point... at a very fast speed. ;) 3y
