“”‘I see . . .‘ said the vampire thoughtfully, and slowly he walked across the room towards the window.”

Another ✨Inflectra✨ infusion means time for more reading! Time to start one more from the #AuldLangSpine 2024 list from @Lin3han before moving on to the 2025 list from @BookmarkTavern

Infusion also happens to be appropriately timed for #IBDAwarenessWeek
Is this my umpteenth re-read? Yes. And I don‘t care. This is one of my comfort novels, so I was glad I could use it to fulfill my Double #BookSpin prompt for July. I love Louis and his ever-present quest to simply understand what the point of his existence even is. I love Lestat‘s sassy ass. I‘ll read it again. I‘ve seen me do it.
I read this 25 or 30 years ago and loved it, as I did all of Anne Rice's books I read at that time. This time round I DNF-ed. I got just over half way through and couldn't be bothered any more.
This was a re-read for me about 20 years later. Didn‘t like it as much as when I was a teenager. It felt all over the place. Seemed like Rice was backtracking with Lestat‘s character as he seemed very different here and the rest of the series than in Interview with the Vampire. The history of the Theater of the Vampires makes more sense. Relationship with his mom after he makes her a vampire is super weird. Marius‘ story in here was 70 pages.
