My first year participating in the BookTube-A-Thon 2017, my progress was hampered by mental health issues and just plain-old life issues. But it did manage to get at least two books read and they were both excellent! #BTAT17

Pickpick

Boyden's novella brings a poetic beauty to this unforgivable tragedy. Its a heartbreaking story based on a real child, who really did die trying to escape from one of Canada's Residential Schools. Powerfully written, Wenjack touches on a history I want to explore in more depth and it was a great place to wade in. Read during the #BTAT17

Pickpick

The Force is a brutal, but fascinating look at a dirty cop quickly getting in over his head. Its a pessimistic world where everyone is crooked and out for their own gain. The government, the police, they're all as bad as the criminals they claim to go after. There is a lot of intrigue and fun twists. I had no problem powering through this 400+ page during the #BTAT17

Despite it being summer in the south, I'm cuddling up in my fuzzy robe reading this charming contemporary romance about an academic librarian! #currentlyreading #btat17 #booktubeathon

Looking forward to any evening of pop culture references in #theoasis #readyplayersone #btat17 #readahypedbook #ernestcline #80s #popculture

LibrarianRyan Love this book!!! 7y
Whatannareads @LibrarianRyan I've just finished! I was half way through when I picked it up 🙈 oh well! I loved all of the pop culture references! And wish I could have had just a little more just to see what happened with the gang! And the IOI. Not sure if I want to watch the film though. 7y
LibrarianRyan @Whatannareads I still want to see the movie. Read Armada. Almost as good. 7y
Whatannareads @LibrarianRyan, still I've heard very mixed things about Armada x 7y
LibrarianRyan @Whatannareads it's hard to be as good as something great like RPO. It's not as good. And it's a somewhat typical space story. I listened to it as an audiobook and paid attention the entire time. That doesn't usually happen for me. I wish Cline would write some more. 7y

I was on a roll with my #booktubeathon reading, but then I hit a lull. Hoping to power though three more books. About a quarter of the way through this one. Enjoying it! #currentlyreading #btat17 #btat

'From the 1870s until 1996, when the last school closed its doors, more than 150,000 Indigenous children over seven generations were removed from their families in an attempted cultural genocide.'
