I told myself I would never read these books, but here I am. The story was simple and to the point. While there is nothing wrong with Christian values, this book feels like it wants you to blindly follow and trust in those values, without questioning, and that's where the problem stems from.

Doppoetry The antagonists aren't antagonists because they are motivated by anything specific. You are meant to just trust that they are bad because “trust me, bro.“ I found the portrayal of the “white witch“ to be pretty misogynistic. I can see people arguing over the opposite, where he had given a woman power over a man and some children, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth. 5h

This was a really good book but I felt like besides the end, it didn‘t play into the Narnia landscape as much as the others. I really wish they wouldn‘t have canceled the movie cause it would have been so fun to watch!! Onto the last book in the series!

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage There‘s an old BBC tv version of this series that was on PBS, I think. The 1988 version? My sister and I watched it growing up. Maybe it‘s on prime? I just remember Tom Baker (of Dr. Who fame) played Puddleglum (edited) 4mo
michellelav @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I‘ll have to look into it!! Thank you for letting me know 😁 4mo

This book was good but definitely not the best in the series. It made me think of The little prince. Excited to be moving on to the next book in the series :)

I got the whole Chronicles of Narnia series on audible and it started with this one. So fun to hear about how Narnia was created 🥰 This was a fun book! 🦁

A little Friday night reading 📖 I‘ve never read the entire Narnia series, and so far I‘m enjoying it a lot.🦁

Ruthiella This book is really great! It‘s like a prequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. 6mo
TheQuietQuill I‘ve just finished it now, and what a fun adventure! It‘s really neat to read how Narnia was started, and just how the White Witch came to be. @Ruthiella 6mo
Ruthiella I loved the bit about the lamppost. 😃 6mo

“And whatever strange things may happen to you, let nothing turn your mind from following the signs.” In my most humble opinion, this thrilling story is the best book in the entire Narnia series. This adventure teaches not only the heroes but also the reader that all journeys require a map of wisdom that if neglected will almost indefinitely result in greater trials and heartache. #narnia #52challenge
