My book for February was this one! Colson Whitehead is one of the best authors of historical fiction books. I have read most of Colson Whitehead's books. I first met Colson while I was a member of The Barnes and Noble Mystery Book Club. We got a chance to read and discuss Sag Harbor before it was published. I remember thinking how much I loved his humor and what an excellent writer he was. Whenever I see that Colson has a new book, I strive to get a copy in order to read it.

pickThis was my pick for Black History month. I‘m becoming a big fan of historical fiction and listening to Bahni Turpin read this amazing story of perseverance had me completely sucked in. I‘d definitely recommend it. Only downside was I felt the end was left a little to open. pickIt‘s been a while since a story really broke my heart. The Nickle Boys definitely did especially the ending. Also, I learned that Colson Whitehead was inspired to write this story after hearing about a place called The Dozier School for Boys. That was the most heartbreaking part.
