Today's #CoolBooks prompt made me think of the Mordant's Need duology. Terisa literally does not believe in herself: she worries she's #imaginary & has episodes where she feels herself fading from reality. She surrounds herself with mirrors to try to affirm her own existence. One night she's staring at her reflection, trying to keep a hold on reality, when a man appears inside the mirror. He was sent to find the champion their auguries foretold but somehow ended up in her mirror instead. He's certain Terisa's an Imager & entreats her to go with him through the mirror into his world. 6y

TK-421 @Guildedearlobe I can't think of another writer who makes me care so much about characters who are deeply flawed and infuriatingly human. I love that many of his characters either overcome their weaknesses or embrace them in order to succeed in ways that more likable, less flawed characters wouldn't dream of. 6y
