Part one. I had a busy week, but I managed to finish this part last night. I‘m not sure how I feel about it yet. But I could probably use a character index. Though I always tend to have trouble with fantasy names until I‘m about halfway in, so maybe that‘s just me.

rabbitprincess Yeah, from what I‘ve read so far (about 50 pages), I feel like there are more characters to keep track of than in Mistborn. I wonder too if the epic timescale makes everything feel bigger (the fact that 4000 years pass between the prelude and the prologue, for instance) 7d

Leniverse I needed to let Warbreaker settle for a couple of days before going into this, but I'll try not to fall a whole book behind again 😬😅 I have heard that this series is more challenging than Mistborn, but I'm prepared to take notes if need be 😂 Meanwhile, is everyone keeping an eye out for Hoid? 😉 7d

Meshell1313 Ok I totally agree! This one is harder for me to get sucked into. There are A LOT of characters who I am hoping will all get together at some point? I like your ideas about keeping notes. I‘m hopeful it will pick up soon as Sanderson hasn‘t disappointed me yet! Whose story line is your favorite so far?? 7d

The other books I felt I had a grasp of the world pretty quickly, but not so here. I'm only up to ch.4 though, and I am very intrigued by Kaladin, so I'm not in complete despair 😂 3d

I found a crossover! The storyteller that gives Siri (and us) the entire backstory to the realm. The name was nagging at me. The passage in the photo might not refer to events in The Final Empire, but there is a Hoid there. (Reading on kindle can be handy. I did a search on his name in the books.) He's the beggar-informer in book 1 who makes Kelsier angry enough to reveal more than he intended. And I think the one Vin decided not to approach in 3

I‘m back home, so I finally have my hands on my new books. I ordered these from Blackwells. I love Blackwells. They packed each book individually to protect them in transit. And they all match. That being said, at this size, there is no way I will be able to not crack these spines. lol

Leniverse Yay, Stormlight Archive! I've been looking forward to this. I think, however, I'm glad I'm reading all the Cosmere books as ebooks so that I can't see how big they are 😅 (Although I hope this one has page numbers. My kindle version of Warbreaker hasn't, and it's bothering me.) 2w

CrowCAH I started this series a couple years ago! The Way of Kings is a great introduction! Some time this year I‘ll be listening to book 2.5. 2w

I loved this one. I especially loved the humor and sarcasm that went along with the sad bits. And it was so unpredictable. He kept me guessing until the very end. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think. #CosmereBuddyRead

Meshell1313 I loved this one and the ending! Lightsong‘s storyline was my favorite and his ending I thought was perfection. I am also pleased with Vivenna and Vasher‘s ending kind of walking off together to who knows where- but you know she can‘t ever go back to her old life. 2w

I agree with you both @meshell1313 and @jacqmac this was an excellent book and my favourite so far. I loved the very feel of it from the get go. As well as Lightsong and his story, I really enjoyed the moments between Siri and Susebron, and their developing relationship. I‘m really not ready to let these characters go. 2w

Leniverse Wow, what a finale. Once I started this part I couldn't put the book down 😅 I thought I had things figured out, but I was mostly wrong. E.g. I thought Lightsong was Idrian 😂 I did guess Vasher's real identity though, although he had me confused for a while. I'm glad Viv asked for clarification in the end, to get it confirmed. And I really hope Sanderson gets around to the sequel soon! 1w

Leniverse I even thought Blushweaver was faking her torture, to trick Lightweaver 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was more paranoid than Viv at the end. And yet I didn't guess at who the mastermind was. I should have. The signs were all there, even the lack of knowledge about their religious beliefs. I was sure that was significant, and still I was surprised. This was so well done. @Andrew65 @Meshell1313 @JacqMac 1w

Andrew65 @Leniverse From what I read somewhere will be 2027 for a sequel at the earliest, and that it wouldn‘t be so much a sequel as including the stories of one or two characters from this book. (edited) 1w

Leniverse @Andrew65 That's a shame. What I've seen is that there's to be a sequel called Nightblood, following Vasher and Viv (and the sword, obvs), but that it wasn't due until after several other books. I was hoping he'd been inspired to move it forward 😂 But maybe this is an extra, then? Like a 1.5 novella, or 0.5 backstory? 1w

I don‘t know why it has taken me so long to start reading Sanderson. I really love the Cosmere. For those of you doing the #CosmereBuddyRead rumor is that Sanderson is writing a part 2 for this one, with the working title Nightblood, but it‘s currently on hold. 🤞

Just finished this #cosmerebuddyread and Sanderson has done it again. This one was a standalone in the same world but I loved these characters and hate to leave them. His world building and magic systems are unmatched. Two princesses being used as pawns as the threat of war looms. As with any Sanderson book there are betrayals, shifting alliances and interesting love matches. Can‘t wait to see what everyone thinks of the ending! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
