I have tremendous respect for the students of Parkland, who choose to take a horrific school tragedy and turn it into a call for action against gun violence & a fight for gun safety legislation. It‘s truly remarkable. However, unless Dave Cullen pledged every dollar from the sales of this book towards the fight, I missed the point. The deeper I got into the book, I realized it was very shallow. 👇🏼
Cinfhen Dave Cullen admits this book was born after a series of articles he‘d prepared for Vanity Fair. While I found Columbine a tremendous effort of excellence & thorough thoughtful investigation, this book was poorly edited and felt slapped together. 4y

Cinfhen This book is strictly about the birth of the MFOL movement and doesn‘t attempt to understand what happened at Parkland that day. It never mentions the killer‘s name nor does it really get into any of the victims @KathyWheeler It‘s inspiring how the students became activists but it‘s not enough to make a book. (edited) 4y

Kalalalatja That‘s too bad! Columbine is such a tough, but well written book, and I had hoped the same for this. But I have been holding off buying for a reason, and I just had a feeling it wouldn‘t be as well done 4y
Cinfhen I bought it on a #KindleDailyDeal so it wasn‘t a large investment @Kalalalatja but I could have read his vanity fair articles online for free!! See if you can find them 💖It‘s really a different book from Columbine in so many ways but it‘s really not on the same level. 4y
