Contract Season | Cait Nary
post image

Sunday reading with snuggly Penny.

I‘m so impressed with Cait Nary‘s range, y‘all. She‘s great at high stress romances (SEASON‘S CHANGE), adorable romcoms (LUCKY BOUNCE), and stuff like this, which slides into that sweet spot where there‘s SOME stress for the characters but it‘s mostly about them, like, finding their way through a scenario they hoped they could avoid but are actually coping with really well. IT‘S SO GOOD. Bring on the back half.

CarolynM Yeah, she‘s good🙂 2y

This was my #TitlesAndTunes #GuiltyPleasure and it absolutely was a pleasure. Not as hockey heavy as the first in the series, but a lovely slow burn #romantsy. Great stuff!

#TitlesAndTunes #GuiltyPleasure

So my definition of a guilty pleasure is things I enjoy without thinking they are in any way objectively good.

I love a hockey romance, especially a romance between hockey players - no literary value, no new ideas or things to learn, just the warm & fuzzies & bit of smut doesn‘t go amiss 😆

The song is one I absolutely hated when it was released - annoyingly catchy rubbish pop🤮 When I hear it now I sing along 😎

BarbaraBB Fab post! I read that one hockey romance and loved it too 🥰 2y
Cinfhen Need to listen to the song and might need to try a hockey romance! That does sound like good fun 🤩 ⛸️🏒🥅 2y
LeahBergen A bit of smut! 👍😆 2y

Centique Oh my god I love that song 😂😂😂 I was just looking at the playlist going “I wonder who posted Counting the Beat, how cool are they?” Of course it was you! 😘 2y
Centique Didn‘t realise it was another Kiwi band until just now! Thought it was an Aussie one. 2y
CarolynM @Centique But so very uncool in 1981 🤣 2y
erzascarletbookgasm I don‘t know the song 🎵 will look it up! 2y
Centique Oh dear! I‘ve just seen that the new Brandon Taylor book I preordered for you isn‘t getting very good reviews on Litsy! Oh well, the second book is lovely 🤞😘 2y
Rissreadswithcats You do know this song is about masterbation? 🤣 2y
CarolynM @Rissreads No I did not 😱 and I don‘t think I wanted to…🤣 2y

I inhaled and absolutely loved this entire trilogy. She's an aspiring performer - singing, dancing, acting - who recently lost her mom and is struggling to pay the bills in LA. He's a successful singer/songwriter, producer, piano prodigy, and all around famous artist. Sparks fly, tension builds, a lot of messy hurdles to make it work, a lot of misunderstandings along the way, and so much 🌶

Now I HAVE to add Before I Let Go to my next BOTM box!

Rhyson is a piano playing superstar with a complicated family. Kai is an aspiring singer with the smallest family in the world. Both have shoulders heavy with trauma and this is how their romance begins.

Ryan is fantastic at fleshing out her characters, making them both loveable and irritating at the same time. The romance steams off the pages.

At time of posting this trilogy is available on Kindle Unlimited.

Presenting avocado toast on homemade whole wheat bread, with moonblush tomatoes.

I‘m still really enjoying THE SPIRES OF TURRIS, but I haven‘t had much with-eyeballs reading time these last couple days. I‘m hoping to make up for that later this afternoon.

Scone + SF. I read maybe a third of THE SPIRES OF TURRIS a few years back, then decided I wasn‘t in the right mood for it. (I‘d just finished another stellar SF series in a totally different mode and all I really wanted was more of that.) Fast forward to last night and I‘m in exactly the right mood for it. Hurray!

Some angsty backlist romance from Kristen Ashley. I cried more than once reading this. I loved Kia, she‘s been through so much and is stronger for it. Sam wasn‘t my favorite hero, but I do like how he finally got it together and opened up. As usual her secondary characters add so much to the story.

Kia was in an abusive marriage for 7 years. She‘s now free and ready to enjoy life, but hasn‘t really dealt with her problems.

Lauren_reading She meets Sam, her celebrity crush and they connect right away, but he has his own secrets and hurdles to get past. 4y
