pick19/100 Green Arrow has always been one of my favorite superheroes, much more interesting than Marvel's Hawkeye. Green Arrow's origin story was pretty much the same, but updated and streamline. Queen was still the reckless, alcoholic playboy, he still ended up on the desert island with the drug runners, it's just more gritty and violent than earlier versions of his origin. 3.75/5

so-so99/150 I'm not much on horror books, so this is probably the closest I'll come to a Halloweenish read. Sadly this isn't very thrilling or scary. Superman is totally out of place in this kind of story, but Batman fits in perfectly. While the story was so-so, the artwork was excellent. I can't think of anyone, aside from the late great Gene Colan, who could have done this kind of story better than Tom Mandrake. I never cared for his superhero work,
Green Arrow is on the run. The city believes him to be a killer. Percy continues to wow as Oliver's story unfolds.
Percy has a knack for action, plot, and dialogue. Set in Seattle, this new Green Arrow run doesn't try to go too big too fast. It concentrates on Oliver's relationship with his family and love interest, Black Canary.

I decided on a Springback binding for our album, since its heavy covers and durable binding will hold up the years, and I like that it will lie flat enough for people to write on both pages. Still have covers and headbands to go, but I like where it‘s at ☺️

pickAnother stellar Green Arrow collection. Oliver faces off against real-world villains, with plenty of moral ambiguity in the mix and some damned good meditations on the contrast between law and justice.
The script and the art jive BEAUTIFULLY, too. No overly wordy captions here; just action-oriented layouts and a boatload of trust in the story and its reader. This is one of the great late 80s comics, on every level. #comics
