Here it's again! #TheBookCam #HotGalReading #readeverywhere I can't read and listen to music at the same time. How do people manage? What type of music are you listening to? #randomquestion #bookishhabit #booknerd #music #book #read #listen #mbsc #mybookswapclub

LittlePixels I can't listen and read either. If I'm in a really loud environment, sometimes I'll either put on white noise or something instrumental - usually classical. Even instrumental can be distracting, though. I don't know how people do it. 7y
mjdowens I can‘t do this either. 7y
IamIamIam I don't think I could listen to music and read in the subway. There's always so much going on, I feel like I'm on sensory overload just going down the steps. Ill listen to classical or film scores if I'm home, though. 7y

Redwritinghood I can‘t do this either. Maybe the headphones are just there to discourage conversation? 7y
Penny_LiteraryHoarders I usually have music playing in the background, or the TV on low, really low - I just need something in the background. Can‘t be in complete silence. 😊 7y
Laura317 I have to have some noise, too. My family makes a lot of happy noise. When I'm alone, I need something in the background to concentrate. 7y
litmuggle If I'm around people I need it to drown out there talking. 7y
Kaylamburson Sometimes I just have them in to discourage conversation, like @redwritinghood said. Occasionally I have listened to the audiobook while reading at the same time if I'm switching back and forth and trying to find my place. 7y
Reecaspieces I can do both. When my kids were little and we would go on road trips, I definitely had headphones in so I could drown them out and read. Now it depends on the situation 7y
Captivatedbybooks I can do both, i dont even notice the music when im reading. My family always asks me how do i manage to drown out some noise but still pick up on other things while reading 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker I can do both. I listen to a variety of music. It's like a soundtrack for the book. Right now I listen to the Beatles, 90's alternative and Taking Back Sunday lol. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I can‘t either!!! 😩 7y
MamaGina I often have either classical or jazz on in the background when I read. Amazon prime has some nice playlists made for reading, even some designated for specific genres🤓 7y
Bostonmomx2 I can but not “in”my ears and only if it‘s light classical turned down low. I can however have the TV going and read just fine. 7y
Scurvygirl Music, no. TV, yes. But I prefer silence except for when my tinnitus is acting up. 7y
Lilithcat17 I can't not have music on. Silence bothers me, so I usually stream on Spotify. I can't do TV/movies when I read. Too distracting. Right now I'm listening to Spotify's 10 Years radio. Some good hard rock bands. 7y
