Welcome to Litsy!

Finished this yesterday and have been trying to process my feelings about it since. It tackles some deep subject with a levity that makes the book seem trite at times, but there are some dark themes running through the story so it needs some humour to lighten it. On the whole, I enjoyed it, and felt invested in the friendship between the two MCs, especially towards the end.

I loved this novel of family, identity, and the power of cake. 😂 Seriously, it‘s a well written story that draws you in and with one exception, makes you love all the characters. I‘m looking forward to my book club‘s discussion. #litsyAtoZ #letterB

No murder but Lord Wimsey trusts his gut and investigates anyway. He finds motive and countless suspicious circumstances but no evidence of murder, until another person dies. And no evidence that it was murder. The hint of racism appears again and that turned me off quite a bit so that I won‘t continue the series. Saved, just barely, by some instances of lol humor and a nice analysis of how changes in laws create motives for murder. #authoramonth

Loved this one! Margo is a character I immediately started rooting for. She‘s young and naive, but she tries to learn from her mistakes. Lots of character growth! This isn‘t a totally light read, as many heavy topics are addressed - addiction, sex work, and societal expectations for mothers among them. An overall great read!

I love this series and this one was really good! REICHS even had someone binging all the seasons of “Bones”. I love little nods like that.
As the title suggests, these victims have been burned. I enjoyed this one on audio.

I just flew through this one.
It focus on how Darin and Spiro met, and how Laia became her grandfather's apprentice.
It's not as action packed as the first one, and started off a bit slow.
My book order finally arrived and I'll start A Reaper at the Gate tonight, but in the meantime I needed a quick fix to get me in the right mindset, and this hit the exact right spot.
I'm now super stoked to get on with the series.
