March was another excellent reading month for me. I read 4 Jane Harper books for #authoramonth, 3 of which are also for #serieslove2024. I read 4 books for #SouthKorea #foodandlit (5 when I finish the tagged book—I couldn‘t squeeze it in for March) and 5 for #readingOceania (Pacific worked for two challenges). Aaron Falk has gone to Marralee to undertake his being named godfather for a close friend‘s baby. The event was postponed after a woman disappeared a year beforehand at the annual wine festival. Everyone in this close community wanted to find the woman, and Falk, a Melbourne investigator, inadvertently started following the clues to find her. Third and last in this series, I have come to realize that Harper always has an unexpected twist and ⬇️

I‘m going way outside my comfort zone for my next ebook for #SouthKorea but opted for it because it also satisfies the #letterX for #litsyatoz, which is always hard to find. #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

The great February book haul: I‘m always on the lookout for books for #litsyatoz. And these are literally #letter A to #letterZ

Reading an 11-year-old‘s diary when she‘s a happy child and then suffering the fates of the Bosnian War is tragic and sad. Pages of the diary were published during the war in 1991-93 when she lived in Sarajevo, and she knew she was being compared to Anne Frank. Her writing is exemplary for her age but she never understood why there was a war and why peace wasn‘t coming. She was both hopeful and sometimes suicidal as friends were killed and ⬇️

This once middle class family moved a wood stove found in the attic into the kitchen because electricity is out more often than it is on. And this is how they are spending the winter. #letterZ #litsyatoz
