Best part about being self-employed. Done enough for the day? Okay! Bathtime!

Gonna finish The Bull of Minos today. The author is such a fanboy about Schliemann and Evans -- not all that surprising given this was published in the 50s, and perhaps we've swung too far the other way in criticising their archaeology compared to now...

Not unpleasant reading, but definitely rather less about the Minoans and more a paean to the archaeological work of Schliemann and Evans. Not quite what I was looking for.

TimSpalding I think it's a little dated. There was a crazy for things Minoan a few decades ago, much of it based on misconceptions (e.g. that the Minoans were peaceful, non-violent, ruled by women, etc.) I'm not sure what's replaced it, although this tweet might be the current winner https://twitter.com/e_pe_me_ri/status/933104690824339456 6y
shanaqui @TimSpalding Very dated! Not sure who recced me it, but oh well. It had its moments! 6y
