I enjoyed this book but to say they‘re all “lies” across America is an exaggeration. Many of the examples in the book are “omissions of historical facts across America.” The book also goes on a bit too long and gets a bit redundant at times, but I enjoyed it even if it was nowhere near as riveting as the author‘s original work. 3.5/5

A good one, especially if you are in the history business. Can't say I'm in agreament with everything, but the idea that a house museum must root its importance in the local but become relevant in the broader to remain relevant and survive in the longterm, I can support. Also that not all historic house museums must have inherant perenial value. Thought provoking.

Some of my textbooks for the semester! I have more online... Almost finished Slavery and Public History, and I've honestly learned so much about collective memory and false narratives. It's incredibly interesting and puts a lot of responsibility on the public historian to tell the historic truth, even if the public is against it.

mavey My face is getting starry-eyed looking at your pic!!🤩🤩Love history!! 3y

This beauty just arrived! I have been waiting since April (but publishing got paused so here we are). This is the end all be all for my career and I am so excited. If you would have told me I would be this pumped for basically the new edition of my grad school textbook well I‘d probably believe you bc I am a nerd. (Also my favorite professor is one of the new editors).

MRM5 is dead long live MRM6!

After an extreme cold spell here in Wisconsin, it‘s finally time to start my last semester. I may, or may not be, counting down the days until I graduate in May.

I am finding this read to be very interesting. It is making me question a lot of history that I thought was true that is for sure!!

The Book Barn in Niantic, CT is one of my favorite bookstores. Not only do they have thousands of used books -- they also have someone with a great sense of humor who categorizes the shelves! 😀
