This isn't the first line but the first line of chap 4. It just resonated with me right now. ?

A Grief Observed is a compilation of longhand writings take from the notebook journals of C.S. Lewis chronicling his thoughts over the loss of his wife. I listened to this book on audio. And it's fairly short, which is probably a good thing, and nearly bailed before the introduction was over. To be honest if it had been any longer than what it was, I still would have bailed on it. The content is interesting, (cont in comments)...
Ehrman writes about the Problem of Evil and how Christians have attempted to “square the circle” the millennia. I love a good dilemma and this is a classic. Multiple horns and lots of consequences; according to Ehrman, too many facile responses to a very deep philosophical conundrum.
A thought provoking little book. More religious that I expected, but some wise advice on how and why to carry on when the very act of getting out of bed seems to be too much.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ 🔷 So thankful for this book and women I read it with for a book study through church. God had his hands on the timing of reading this. I love Lysa‘s books and her writing just speaks to you….I am left wanting to read more of her books. #april
I gained a lot from reading this book. It is a faith-based approach on how to think about and the reasons why to work towards "getting out of bed" for those struggling with mental health issues. It is not based on a "scientific" study but rather a treatise on how looking outwards when we are in the throes of a crisis can help motivate and push us out of our own thoughts. This may not be for everyone. It is not a cure-all with guarantees of ⬇️
Here‘s my review for a book I just finished reading.
I just started this book. It‘s interesting so far. I‘m going to read this book for #theunreadshelfproject. February‘s prompt is Courage. This book is going to attempt to answer a difficult question which is,”Why does God allow suffering?” I‘ve been wanting to read this book for awhile because it‘s something I‘ve been curious about but I‘m intimidated by the subject matter. I was close to unhauling this book because of the subject matter.
