Pickpick

I picked this up as my travelogue for the Litsy Reading Challenge. This was about a couple who leave their cold and damp home in England to open a bar and restaurant in the sun drenched paradise of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Although it sounded good on paper they quickly realize that it‘s a lot more hard work than they imagined. They meet quite an assortment of characters along the way as well. It was a quick, fun read.

Pickpick

This was a hilarious book about two brothers owning and attempting to run a bar in Tenerife. At times I couldn't believe the stories, they were almost to crazy to be real. This was a fun read, definitely a good pick for the beach 😀

Booksnchill Listened to this on audio also great! 6y

"...there is no need to start at the beginning..."
Controversial? Do you always start a #series at the first published book? And what do you do if they aren't translated in order? #crimefiction

TrishB I can‘t read out of order! Picked up a book last night and realised it was 3rd in a series and had to order the first two! 6y
Beckys_Books Must read in order 6y
rabbitprincess I don't usually read mystery series in order. I want the main case to be interesting, and if the main case I find most interesting is the 6th book in the series, so be it. 6y

charl08 @TrishB oh dear. Let's skip over the fact this isn't book one then! 6y
charl08 @Beckys_Books good to be clear... 6y
charl08 @rabbitprincess I blame years of limited library stock for my attitude to series order: take what you can, because it might not be there next week! 6y
RidgewayGirl I prefer to start with a later book in a series. Authors and series tend to get better as they go. 6y
charl08 @RidgewayGirl I wish I could claim my approach was so well considered. 6y

I've said it before and I have to say it again - I really love the Irene Huss series. I know it ends on a few books but for now, I'm savoring each one. I love how the author weaves together seemingly unrelated stories. A hit and run, sex trafficking, and drugs all come together in very satisfying ending.
