One is forensic thriller another one is detective thriller. Both are suspense and unpredictable. 2great authors that I recommend.
On the left is The Devil Star by Jo Nesbo ⭐️
On the right is Written in bones by Simon Beckett🦴
I love reading these classic crime stories and this was a solid one. I listed to the audiobook and it was a well do “who done it“
January 2025 Book #2
Dimpsie invited some friends from the theater to spend Christmas with him in his castle located in a private island near to Edinburgh. Dimpsie was found dead near to the tree which appear to be an accidental death…Dun Dun Dunnnand the drama begins….
Quite predictable 😏 with some funny scenes but predictable. I enjoyed it as a holiday read. It should be a so-so but I usually enjoy these crime classic stories🤷🏽♀️3⭐️
At one point as a #longtimefed I was pretty familiar with the Miami airport, whether as the destination or a transit point. I also spent a long day at the airport greeting arriving participants and getting them onto the right shuttle bus. For another conference, my room overlooked the main runway.
Anyway, in addition to the sandwiches from La Careta, I also like the artwork on the walls.
I was a little unsure abt the idea of a prequel when I have travelled over 20 years in the Tom Torne series but this was a great page turner that explains a lot of the detective's back story. Set in 1996, as the country is gripped by the European championship, a little boy is snatched in a park under the eyes of the two mothers. As the plot unfolds, we learn of thornes dissolving marriage and how he met Phil Hendricks. Good read
The third installment of Sigurdardóttirs‘ children‘s home series will resonate with social media generation, and victims of bullying. In this installment, the crimes are intertwined. The murder of bullies; how their viciousness to victims created a ripple effect. The scheme is sorrowful, meticulous and nauseating. Hits home thematically. Personal note: Please be kind to others. This is fiction, but kindness is real.
I waited for 2 months for my library to get this. And it was worth the wait!!! What a gory ride. A must read for horror fans.
