I enjoyed the writing, the dark humour and the wise-cracking, sarcastic main character, though it lacks the impact of the first book in the series. It will be interesting to see where book 3 goes.

My favorite French detective is back with another visit to Bretagne and awesome food and place descriptions. One thing to note is that there is a dog death in this book, so if this is too upsetting for you, be warned.
I love how the inspector always gets to solve the crime in 3 days. In fact, the books are structured as day 1, day 2, and day 3. Cute!!!

Randomly picked this one from the bargain table at the bookstore and so glad I did! Police procedural filled with interesting characters, a vivid and atmospheric setting and an interesting "whodunit.".
I only read a couple of his books, enjoyed them !😢 https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2025/03/30/irish-crime-writer-ken-bruen-dies-...

One is forensic thriller another one is detective thriller. Both are suspense and unpredictable. 2great authors that I recommend.
On the left is The Devil Star by Jo Nesbo ⭐️
On the right is Written in bones by Simon Beckett🦴
I love reading these classic crime stories and this was a solid one. I listed to the audiobook and it was a well do “who done it“
