Here's the Sherlock Holmes Museum, indeed located on Baker Street, & it now has the 221B assignation, but apparently, there's been controversy regarding the specific location of such a universally known postal address. The original 221 is a few doors down the street, thanks to recoding and the city changing addresses on its residents. I, unfortunately, missed my chance to visit this spot, but I plan to next time! Do I have a guide? #LitLocale
Foxyfictionista Hit me up, @MrBook! I too live in the fair city of Londinium. 😀 8y
Martta I went last spring. It was nice and I loved the shop part and the museum rooms. They had some very nice objects like guns, Holmes's violin, books and medical stuff for dr. Watson but the dolls that tried to act some of the stories were really stupid. Over all it was bit of a disappointment. Bug I'm glad I went. 8y
Karenlovesbooks I was there a couple of years ago on my first trip to London. There's a statue of Sherlock right outside the entrance to the Baker Street underground station. It's one of those that you can call the phone number and talk to him! 8y

Merethebookgal I stopped by during my trip to London over the summer, but the museum was closed, so I just got to take a pic. Still glad I got to see it! 8y
julesG Went there this Spring with my daughter. She loved the Bobby at the door. And of course we also had to go to the "false" 221B with "Speedy's Café". 8y
Libby1 It's a good bit of fun. As it's a museum for a fake character (Blasphemy! Blasphemy!) it rightly doesn't take itself too seriously. I had my photo taken with the Hound of the Baskervilles. Where else could you do that? 8y
Crash I live about 40 minutes away by train, if you ever come to London drop me a line. 8y
TheLondonBookworm Ah come on, you guys know that should you ever come to London you have a willing and ready guide in me :) Funnily enough I work on Baker St and go past this museum nearly every day when I go for lunch in Regents Park! There's a great bookshop next door as well as the Beatles museum (though it's nothing on the one on Liverpool!) 8y
scripturient @TheLondonBookworm That's a great way to spend your lunch break. :) But how can you work so close to a bookshop without getting broke? 😂 8y
TheLondonBookworm @scripturient with great difficulty I assure you! Doesn't help that Daunt books is around the corner in the other direction!!!? I'm surrounded by gorgeous bookshops ☺☺☺😍 8y
scripturient @TheLondonBookworm 😂😂 Yes, London is like a fall down the rabbit hole for me when it comes to bookshops. I'm not sure my poor mum was fully aware of what she is getting into when she agreed to come along for a weekend. 😂😂 8y
TheLondonBookworm @scripturient so true! It's a veritable treasure trove :) heheh you'll have so much fun! Bring strong bags 😂😂😂 8y
MrBook @Foxyfictionista @Crash @TheLondonBookworm @scripturient Aww, you all are the best *big hug from me and @BookBabe *! It's so much better and more fun when you visit somewhere and you have friends there. We'll definitely let you know 😁👍🏻! And if you all get together, you *must* do a #LitsyPhotoOp for #TheLitsyLondonBranch! 😎👌🏻 8y
MrBook @Martta Aww, well thank you for your insight 😁👏🏻! @Karenlovesbooks Hah! That's awesome 😊👏🏻👏🏻! @Merethebookgal Aww! Did you get to see any other literary landmarks? @julesG Ooh, I'll have to check that place it as well, thank you 😁👏🏻! @Libby1 😂👏🏻🙌🏻!! Exactly! 8y
julesG @MrBook They serve a great English Breakfast. Take the Tube to Euston Station. It's just a few metres from the tube, North Gowern Street. 8y
scripturient @MrBook I'm actually not in London but just know the city quite well. :) You should definitely check out Highgate cemetery. It's very Victorian. :) When are you going to London? 8y
MrBook @julesG 😁👏🏻! @scripturient Oh, okay. Not sure. Visited for a week back in 2000, and looooooved it! 8y
TheLondonBookworm @MrBook That sounds like a brilliant idea!!! ❤❤ I'm really enjoying #TheLitsyLondonBranch new favourite hash tag! 8y
