The intrigue within the house of Owain ap Gruffudd Gwynedd gets more and more complex and complicated as this series continues. The number of spies from multiple directions, from multiple places, working for multiple people and ending up double and even triple agents is mind numbing. It‘s always hard to think of Gareth (and now Llelo and Dia) off to battle, but it‘s always wonderful seeing them all together. I love Gareth and Gwen so much. 👇🏻

GingerAntics I can‘t wait for the next book. So many open ended questions for Gareth and Gwen, as well as for Wales. Of course, Tom Mumford is always a favourite narrator for all things Sarah Woodbury and Welsh. 1y

I finished this one on Thursday on the bus. I forgot to post about it. Sorry guys. I‘ve been a terribly Litsy friend the last few weeks.

This just might be the most twisted, complicated death of the entire series. I loved every second of it. The big news is of course Llelo and Dai growing up and really becoming men.

GingerAntics It‘s crazy to think of Llelo because 17! Dai is 15! It‘s mind blowing. I still picture 13/14 year old boys in my head (even though 14 makes you legally a man in wales at this time), but they really are men now. In a few more books, one of them is going to fall in love and get married! I can‘t wait! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 (edited) 2y
GingerAntics Mumford also read this one, so it was absolutely awesome in every way. I seriously hope he does every new book from now on. #SarahWoodbury #TheFaithlessFool

Finally going to read this one, over a year after I got the paperback and ebook. Luckily, Tom Mumford is the narrator again. I seriously hope he‘s taken over for Schroeder now. Anyway, starting this after some sleep. I‘m guessing this one is about Cadwaladr. Faithless and fool both describe him well.

This story especially intriguing, because no one is actually murdered. The revelations are still far and away a highlight of the end of this book. I completely forgot the ending of this one. I may never forget it now. Tom Mumford narrated this time and it really made the story (and Woodbury‘s writing) sing. This was far more pleasant to listen to than any of the others before it.

I love seeing Dai growing up and becoming a greater member of the dragons. The mystery itself was great and kept me on my toes until the end (I didn‘t remember who killed whom from my first time through). I loved this story, but could someone please teach Laurel Schroeder how to say “chomping at the bit.” “Champing” isn‘t even a word. Where was the director on this thing? Seriously.

Bookwomble I'd also say "champing", as it's the form of that saying I learnt at school ? 2y

I loved spending time with Godfrid, Connell, and Cait. I just wish the narrator could actually speak her native tongue. I don‘t understand how these basic mispronunciations weren‘t corrected. I would expect to have to do those parts again, but apparently Laurel Schroeder doesn‘t. As a native English speaker she should know how to say “chomping,” but - again - apparently not. “Champing” at the bit was jarring, distracting, and ridiculous.

GingerAntics I would have absolutely been willing to pay a little more for these audiobooks to have a better narrator, or at least have some editing done. All the stars for Sarah Woodbury 2y

This book was so much better the second time around. The mystery in this book is so convoluted, it needs a second trip through to catch it all and wrap your head around it. I ally enjoyed it so much more this second time, even if I didn‘t remember as much of this one because of how confused I was the first time around.

@Texreader okay, so I have one answer, I‘m still working on the second. These are my notes.

Texreader 😄 You‘ll have to share these again someday with me when I reread the books! 👍🏻 2y
GingerAntics @Texreader lol I have my notes this time around. I wasn‘t keeping a reading journal when I first started the series, so most of the books only have one entry. The last 2-3 will have two entries. I‘ll be sure to share notes with you when you read them again. 2y
