Pickpick

As a debut this book is impressive - it‘s a slow burn story of a devastating time in recent history that many don‘t think about. It made my heart ache for the people of Ukraine who must feel like the world has abandoned them. All that being said, I didn‘t love this book. It was a bit of a drag to read. I‘m rooting for Demon Copperhead #WomansPrize23 although I still have to read Trespasses 🤓

TrishB Funny how we all feel it differently! I would love this one to win but think DC will (which I‘m still happy with). 11mo
Cathythoughts I must get to Demon C. 👍🏻♥️ 11mo
BarbaraBB I look forward to the outcome! 11mo

Pickpick

It‘s a pick but it‘s depressing. Set in Northern Ireland during the 70‘s. A time and place where who you are and where you come from matters more then your character. An evocative and compelling story of love and kindness thwarted by violent sectarianism.

Cinfhen I borrowed this book from the library a few weeks ago but I wasn‘t feeling it. If it makes the shortlist for #WomansPrize23 I‘ll try again 😬 13mo
Cuilin @Cinfhen on plus side it‘s a quick read. 13mo
