Pickpick

I didn't expect to like this at all. I definitely wouldn't have read it if it hadn't been a pick for #barnesandnoble #YAbookclub. But I'm glad I did; I loved it! An enemies to lovers YA book that takes place over the course of the last day of high school, from finding which of the rivals made valedictorian to trying to win the senior scavenger hunt all around Seattle.

Lovesbooks87 It was so good! I love her books! 4y
rjsthumbelina It was adorable. I really liked their romance, and the game they played was fun too. And I always love mixed media elements in books 4y

I don‘t know how Leigh did it, but the second book is even better than the first! The jobs are thrilling, so much at stake to lose, the romantic tension is intense, and the emotion is heavy as I cried at the end. But the plot development is so balanced! I was also laughing when certain people got their revenge and spewed out brilliant retorts! Love this series so much! Cannot wait to start King of Scars! #ya #fantasy #yabookclub #sixofcrows

“I would come for you. And if I couldn‘t walk, I‘d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we‘d fight our way out together — knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that‘s what we do. We never stop fighting.”

Gahhhhhhhhhhhh stopping pulling at my heart strings, thank you very much! Would love to survive and remain whole by the end of this book. #ya #yabookclub #fantasy #love #crookedkingdom

Meghan1 We just read this for my online Discord YA book club! 5y

I finally finished it! Not because of the book but because work has been really crazy lately.

I don‘t think I‘ve blinked the past hour because I‘ve been glued to the pages. All of the characters have great flaws, depth, and personality. The relationships are extremely strong. Brilliant balance between humor and dark, dark mood. I‘m already picking up the sequel and busting it open. I‘m addicted. #ya #yabookclub #fantasy #sixofcrows

It was my birthday yesterday and my husband stocked my YA, Fantasy, and comic bookshelf with some new beauties!!!!

I‘ve had a goal this year to read a book a week, and so far I‘ve been achieving that! What is your 2020 book goal?

Wow. I'm not sure what I can say about this book. The first half moved kind of slowly. I was interested, but not enough to just want to sit and read. The second half I read in basically one sitting! (Which is good, bc I had to read it to run my Barnes & Noble's YA book club, and that's tomorrow.)

rjsthumbelina I don't understand how these characters aren't real people. It doesn't seem possible to me that Ana, Daniel, Puri, Julia, Nick, and Ben aren't actual historical figures. And the story between Ana and Daniel? Perfection. Absolutely beautiful. ❤️ 5y
rjsthumbelina I had never learned much of anything about Franco or what the people of Spain went through during the dictatorship following their civil war. I had certainly never heard about the children who were adopted. This story made me feel so much! I will definitely be going back and reading everything Ruta Sepetys has written. 5y

Pickpick

I read this for my stores YA Bookclub and it did not disappoint! I read it in 2 days— actually I read it up until book club started 😅 I must say, I loved the banter between Altair and Nasir. I‘ll definitely be recommending this to customers looking for a new fantasy read. Also, this was the authors first book 😲 #wehunttheflame #hafsahfaizal #debutauthor #bnyabookclub #yabookclub #fantasy #magic #summerread
