What a fun and exciting graphic novel!
The book is set in 1992 and is about 5 high schoolers who play a role-playing game that comes alive. It reminded me of Jumanji and the Gryphons and Gargoyles season of Riverdale.
The story was easy to follow along. I liked how the characters were introduced with a short bio stating their name, age, and clique.

Phenomenal artwork. Classic ronin style plot, loss and survivor‘s guilt. The war between the Foot Clan and the Hamato Clan—the grandson of the Shredder and Michelangelo—comes down to a climatic battle; a summation of the brutality of war, where there is no winner, and everyone loses something. Eastman & Laird outdid themselves with this epic run.

So cute I can barely stand it! An alien Supervillain committed to destroying humanity needs to de-stress, and nothing feels better than looking at Pandas. Or small, soft, pettable creatures. Or helping small humans. Or even helping his nemesis, the adorable Dawn Red Ranger. I guess there's nothing wrong with being kind to humans before you destroy them?
This is the first manga I've managed to get through and now I get it! Or some of it.

106/100 I finished this a couple of days ago, but forgot to post a review. If you like dark stories, full of deception, violence, and government conspiracies, this is the graphic novel for you. Tom King always finds new ways to look at a character, and here Rorschach is more an idea than a person. I liked the artwork, it matched the story's dark and gritty nature. 4/5 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

I find Kirkman's writing grating and am low key allergic to Ottley's art style, BUT Battle Beast is an iconic character (nvm that he's just an excuse to concoct crazy action sequences) and his quest of self-annihilation is entertaining.

I was looking for something from Zerocalcare set in #Italy for #FoodandLit and stumbled on the tagged book, about the democratic Yezidi self-governing enclave of Sinjar/Shengal in #Iraq, and couldn't pass it up. It's one of those places we hardly ever hear about. All you expect from Zerocalcare: self-reflective, left-wing, informative and depressing, with a glint of tempered hope.
