I read this for my stores YA Bookclub and it did not disappoint! I read it in 2 days— actually I read it up until book club started 😅 I must say, I loved the banter between Altair and Nasir. I‘ll definitely be recommending this to customers looking for a new fantasy read. Also, this was the authors first book 😲 #wehunttheflame #hafsahfaizal #debutauthor #bnyabookclub #yabookclub #fantasy #magic #summerread

This book was so beautifully written that I NEEDED to finish it right away. It‘s an original retelling of the twelve dancing princesses fairytale, brimming with twists and an underlying gothic horror vibe. #houseofsaltandsorrows #YA #yafantasy #gothic #epicreads #arc

The Cruel Prince | Holly Black

I received this as an ARC at bookcon and was lucky enough to meet Holly Black get it signed ( I may have teared up just a little bit, like a crazy fangirl 😂)❤️ the court she built and characters she created are ruthless and will suck you in from the very first page. This is by far, my favorite story that she has ever told and I can't wait for the next. #hollyblack #thecruelprince #allthingsfaerie

I love the poem "Goblin Market" by Christina Rossetti and discovered this amidst relatable searches. This was categorized under Teen Fantasy in my store, although I think it falls in that "weird between" older teen/ young adult category. I wish more of the book focused on goblin lore and the goblins themselves, but I enjoyed it overall.

It's been 2 days since I've finished reading this and my mind is still at war with itself. I found myself torn between wanting Kellan and Wavy together and screaming at him in my head that he was the adult and should have known better. I kept saying "if only". But this is a story about 2 broken people, trying to make it through life. To better understand this book, read the authors note in the end!

The world, the characters- it was so enchanting. I feel like I've just finished reading a long lost legend or fable. It is such a well-written, beautiful story. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟- 5/5 shiny stars

I finally have a day off to finish this, even though I really don't want it to end. I've been so busy with work and life that reading hasn't been on the top of my list of priorities (which I feel awful about). I'm taking full advantage of this rare opportunity of clear weather and reading outside with a view of my amaryllises. 🌺

I had such a good time reading this today for story time! The parents enjoyed it just as much as the kids. Read aloud with super dramatic voices (especially for Rock) and prepare for laughter 😜 #daywalt #storytime #bookseller #kidsdept #funny #legendofrockpaperscissors

I ❤ this book! The message is amazing! No one should ever feel small or incapable. Anyone can achieve greatness with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and hard work. Since March is women's history month, I'll definitely be fitting this into a story time. #shatteringglassceilings

One of the few books I've read for story time that have actually made the kids laugh out loud. I usually read 3-4 books I think are fun, but this one got the best reaction. 👍😊

I'm not going to lie, it was easy for me to put this down and not come back to it for a while. Maybe because it's not my usual "cup of tea?" I really wasn't fully invested in it until about halfway through. I appreciated the short chapters and actually enjoyed the alternating perspectives of the two central characters moving from past to present. The ending was somewhat satisfying, but the overall story wasn't as suspenseful as I'd hoped.

I had been patiently waiting for this to come out and the instant it did, I dropped everything to pick it up. I read this in two nights and it didn't disappoint. Definitely read if you're a fan of the Labyrinth, fairytales, or folktales.
Ps-There's a snippet of a poem called "The Goblin Market" by Christina Rossetti in the beginning of the book (you should read the whole poem online,it's wonderful)

I love that this book is written in verse! I read it in about 2-3 hours. Even though I'm almost 30 and the main character is just 16, she was completely relatable. If you've ever tried online dating, you'll relate to this teen book.

An entertaining book full of twists encased in a fantastical world. It definitely leaves you wanting answers, which I hope will be in the next book.

Claireluana I liked it but the ending seemed too convenient to me. Like: oh just kidding nobody really died. No, we don't really explain how that works. 8y
Ellecee625 @Claireluana- I'm hoping the next book delves deeper into why no one really died and explains who the random woman she saw being thrown around in the tunnels was. They never say if it was her sister and I kind of have a feeling it has do with their mother. 8y

Ellecee625 So far it's really grabbed my attention. I wanted to pull it out and read it at work today, but I knew if I did, I wouldn't be able to put it back down. I had to keep telling myself to put it down and go to sleep last night 😆 8y

Lada is a ferocious protagonist as unforgiving as the land she was born in. At a young age she realizes that men rule over women and use them as nothing more than a way to uphold treaties and alliances. She decides then that no man will determine her life and takes from the world what she wants. 👍

I enjoyed this book so much, I read it in two nights. The storyline was definitely unique, but right up my alley with a little bit of dark fantasy. The dialogue between Zoe and X made me laugh out loud quite a few times. I'm hoping their story continues in a second book!
