📚Currently reading:

🎧Lud in the Mist
🎧Rise of the King

Progress: I had minimal reading done in the past two weeks due to siding replacements and the construction of an overhanging roof to this house. I'm afraid the following week will be the same 😭

📚Currently reading:

🎧Lud in the Mist
🎧Rise of the King

Progress:
I finished all of my planned reading for December and my Goodreads challenge as a result. Got through a few hours of ROTK which was nice, rough week for Lud but I managed to get through a chapter on Friday. Monday is busy as always but I will pick it back up on Tuesday. I will focus on those for the rest of the year.

Progress:
Glad I got back to the Drizzt novels, maybe I can finally catch up by next year. Been making slow but steady progress with Lud in the Mist. I am really loving it. I might pick another short audiobook between those two, but we shall see.

I was finally in the mood to start these again. I think at this point I've made peace with the fact that I only really read these for the B plot with the dark elves, and to see what my favorite assassin is up to and his character development through the series. if it were not for those things I would not bother with this series at all. When Salvator wants to be good, he is SO good, but most of these books feel like mediocre shlock.

Doppoetry I'm beginning to think that Salvatore does not keep any notes because MC is going back and forth between subjects that I thought he already went through “This guy is my friend“ in one book “this guy is my Enemy“ in a different book “this guy is okay, actually but I still hate him but I like him but I hate him“ on a loop. It drives me crazy every time.

Doppoetry MC's asides between chapters are also hypocritical at best while trying to be deep but failing. The writing is so juvenile and pretentious.

When I read this book last week, I had no idea that my hometown was going to face the ravages of a hurricane. Please remember Western North Carolina in your prayers as so many have lost loved ones, their homes, businesses, and cars. Many are still without power, water, internet or cell service ( myself included, I'm currently tethered to my mom's iPad) due to catastrophic flooding. I thank God my family and I are safe.

willaful I\'m so sorry, but thank goodness you\'re safe. Take care! 3mo

*Not in Litsy database, but I have requested it be added.*

I went into this expecting a quick, lighthearted read, which it was! Funny with good-hearted characters in some silly circumstances. And I loved the dragons!

There is also an expected depth in here-a commentary of sorts on living in rural America with drug addictions, poverty, and an understanding of rural diversity which I believe is far more accurate than not. I enjoyed it! 🐉

intothehallofbooks I received this ARC from the author via NetGalley. On sale now. 4mo

When Juan Cabrillo fails to capture the leader of Mexico‘s most dangerous drug cartel and loses an Oregon crew member in the process, he‘s determined to get revenge. Little does he know that the explosion he just narrowly escaped was merely the latest flash of violence from a machine of war that has existed for decades, dating from the bloodiest episode in Armenia‘s history.

EadieB Cabrillo‘s Corporation of mercenaries may have finally met its match in The Pipeline—a criminal syndicate passed down from father to son across generations. A group that sits with its finger on the trigger of a torpedo so deadly it could level entire cities. With millions of innocent civilians hanging in the balance, the Oregon‘s crew must unravel a tangle of drug-smuggling routes 8mo
EadieB and international conspiracies spanning from the Aegean Sea to the Indian Ocean, putting their lives on the line to find the weapon before its countdown hits zero.
This was a good book but a bit different spin than the other books in the Oregon files. It was written by Mike Maden but not with Clive Cussler. This changed the whole voice of the novel and I found it a bit distracting while reading the book.

EadieB The characters of the crew did not work together and I did miss this in the book. Hopefully Mike Maden will correct this in his next writing of the book. I think the books should be a bit consistent with the other books as this book feels like a different series. I realize that it must be difficult to write a book following the author‘s death but feel like it‘s important to get it right or start a new series. 8mo

EadieB Sorry for being so critical but this is just a suggestion to help the author with his next endeavor of writing the next book. 8mo
