The stories for the final section of the #MaeveBinchyBuddyRead of #AFewoftheGirls

cobwebmoth I'm sorry I couldn't keep up with this one. I'll try to do better next time.😊 5y
Andrew65 @cobwebmoth I‘ve struggled with this one too. Short stories don‘t motivate me to read on. 5y

Section 4

Question 7 of 7

ljuliel Well I guess it depends on the person . I might be odd but I find visiting a cemetery very peaceful. I think anyplace you go that is quiet without a lot of people around to distract you. I‘m probably a bit odd though. Cemeteries don‘t depress me. We will all end up there someday 5y
EadieB I think visiting a War Cemetery would help put problems into perspective. How bad can your problems be when you realize that at least you will have more days to live while the persons in the graves won't get another day. (edited) 5y

Section 4

Question 5 of 7

EadieB I think Jim treated Bella badly and I can't even wonder why she would want Jim to come back. I think she would be better off without Jim. 5y
ljuliel It was pretty sad. He was a jerk for doing that to her. I don‘t judge anyone who divorces. Those things happen all the time. I think if you‘re unhappy and want out, be honest. Tell your spouse then leave. Sad that she felt like it was her fault and she needed to fix herself. 5y

Section 4

Question 4 of 7

EadieB Yes Sandra definitely had a better holiday because she lost her suitcase. She became thankful to all the people who donated clothes to her and made great memories of the items she wore while visiting different places. She never would have made so many new friends wearing her own snobbish clothes. 5y
ljuliel Agree with Eadie. Sometimes when you think something is turning out badly , it actually makes life more interesting. 5y

Question 3 of 7

EadieB I think you mean “How did people treat Clare?“ I think it was terrible that they all forgot Clare's birthday. They were so wrapped up in themselves and did nothing but expect Clare to do for them and they couldn't even remember her birthday. 5y
ljuliel It was pretty sad. It makes for a difficult day when people don‘t remember your birthday , like you‘re not important enough to bother with. 5y

Question 2 of 7

EadieB Yes the holiday became an albatross. I think they should have changed their plans and stayed home and not given up so much just to go to Greece for 2 weeks. 5y
ljuliel Yes. Sometimes vacations are more trouble that they‘re worth . Easier to stay home and take time off. 5y

Section 4

Question 1 of 7

EadieB Yes, I think it took a lot of courage to go on holiday on her own especially a Valentine party where there would be so many couples. It worked out well as Annie met and spent some time with Sven. 5y
ljuliel Yes, it would make you stand out a bit to be all by yourself. 5y

Pickpick

This is a book of short stories by Maeve Binchy that was compiled by her husband and publisher after her death. I don‘t usually like short stories but I really enjoyed them very much. Looking forward to reading Chestnut Street in March and I would recommend this book to those who love short stories or reading about Ireland.

TheBookHippie I very much have enjoyed these finishing up today!! This was a win! 5y
EadieB @TheBookHippie I agree! much better than I expected! 5y
Elizabeth2 I love Maeve Binchy. I‘m not much into reading short stories, but think they are good for readathons to break things up. Stacked! #blamelitsy 5y

Section 3

Question 7 of 7

EadieB Chalkie and Linda‘s relationship was really only one-sided with Linda always being the one benefiting. Andy was able to see Linda as being fake and see Chalkie as the better person. 5y
