Splashdance Silver | Tansy Rayner Roberts

Did some post-breakfast outdoor reading with Cooper before the heat warning dropped into place.

SPLASHDANCE SILVER is another digital freebie I‘ve had forever, since a) it didn‘t make it onto La TBR because LibraryThing couldn‘t find it and I was too lazy to add it manually and b) for some reason I thought it was like 600 pages long. It‘s actually more like 300, and the first couple chapters were fun! I‘m eager to really sink into the story.

xicanti @dabbe a friend told me she thinks doodles look like muppets, and now I spend all day reflecting on Copper‘s muppetness. 2d

Very happy with my scores from the book swap on my walk home from pole dance rehearsal for the showcase last night. We also finished the dance so now we have 5 weeks to perfect it and get ready to shake my arse in a small amount of fabric in front of an audience. Nothing I haven‘t done before or won‘t do again. Seriously though it‘s a lot of fun and you should try it too. Ha!

Just as good as the first book in the series! I ordered the next two before I‘d even finished this one.

I‘ve been at the Sydney Writer‘s Festival since Wednesday when this photo was taken. It‘s been hectic catching up with friends and family. I didn‘t get to my first lecture due to the current East Coast Low causing havoc so I took the time to have a nice lunch at Fratelli Fresh at Darling Harbour before heading to the Maritime Museum to listen to Why We Swim. I didn‘t realise how many book releases they do outside the fest dates. I‘ll be back.

Finally got around to reading this. Not too sure what I thought so I looked up the author and listened to her and got an idea of what she was doing in this book. Loved her descriptions of NY. Very real.
The story somewhat repetitive and drawn out. A brave first novel.

Have been trying to track down her books in our library system . Most available as ebooks. Disappointing for me. If I were to try an ebook, what device would you suggest ?
Found this in an op shop. Such great writing.
Always makes me sad that she died so young. Such potential, gone. 😢

Suet624 Can‘t help you with an ereader because I don‘t use one but I downloaded kindle onto my iPad and read ebooks that way. Granted I rarely read an ebook so I probably don‘t know what I‘m missing. 4mo
BkClubCare @Suet624 - just piling on that I prefer to read Kindle books via the app on my iPad over using my Kindle device. The iPad kindle app is just so much easier. 4mo
BkClubCare And Wow - she has a lot of books, none of which are available on my Library‘s Libby access. 4mo
CarolynM I also use the kindle app on my iPad and find it very user friendly😊 I really must read more Georgia Blain. Such a very sad loss😢 (edited) 4mo
