I am 100% sure there are books dating from earlier than this one in my childhood still in the attic at my Ents', but this is the one I've owned longest that is in my actual physical possession at this moment. This was a Christmas gift from my great aunt in 1987 (I was six), there's an inscription from her on the flyleaf, and I remember fondly getting absolutely lost in the illustrations.
