Nutmegnc @Zuhkeeyah it‘s supposed to prevent young students from seeing anything surrounding gender and sexuality, but the heterosexual couples aren‘t censored. 🤬 7mo

GingerAntics @Riveted_Reader_Melissa oh there is no way this book is happening this week. I just finished Dodger and all of a sudden another Neil Gaiman plopped in my lap. I fear once we get into November we‘re going to be into holidays. I‘m thinking January-ish. lol That way we also have some more time, we could get more people on board and have a nice little group. We‘ll have to look at it and figure out how we want to divide it up, too. 6y

I KNOW WHAT I‘M READING FOR BANNED BOOKS WEEK!!!

Some parents are seriously nuts. When this was banned, Neil asked if anyone was fighting back. The answer is HELL YES!!!

readinginthedark Why was this one banned? Magic? Secret worlds? Cursing? I mean, it is technically "an adult book," but as you said, people are crazy. 7y

GingerAntics @readinginthedark some mother threw a fit because it had some cussing and some sex in it. Honestly, I don‘t think Neil did anything outrageous, and her kid probably used/thought just as bad or worse language anyway. As far as sex and teenagers, you can shield them from it all you want, they‘re still going to think about it. Might as well let them see it as a normal part of life (this is definitely not porn). 7y
