What a powerful book and such an important topic… even though it was uncomfortable to read at times it had me hooked! Genova is a master of bringing hard topics to the forefront!

This memoir was a heartwarming and funny follow-up to my SNL-themed reading spree. Molly was on SNL from 1995-2002, clearly starting the trend for many more women writers and cast members, ultimately igniting the show‘s popularity to really explode. I think Mary Katherine Gallagher would agree that Molly‘s over-the-top energy and fierce love for making people laugh make her the perfect SSSSSUPERSTAR!
😄🙌🏻🤩

Book club tonight; unfortunately the book was available from the library TODAY. Going to try and read it fast. #bookjuggler
Fun note: we selected Tilt for next time!!! Squeeee

I‘ve been listening to Thatcher Stole My Trousers by Alexie Sayle and I‘m absolutely loving it. I like non-fiction that is not text book like. Alexie writes sometimes like he‘s setting up a literary game of Jenga. He builds this tower, with his artistry and excellent descriptive powers and then knocks it down with precise, well observed humour and self-depreciation. It‘s as if he‘s like a supreme comedian who‘s been doing it for decades

This was a good read. Maddy, in her early 20‘s, is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and we learn about her manic and depressive states as she attempts to navigate through her moods. As a parent with a bipolar kid, I thought this was well researched and written though a bit over the top at times but in an engaging, bookish way.
