12-25-23: The tagged book is another one that was found under our tree this year. This is my family. My husband and two daughters. And the one in black is carrying my first grandchild. Her name is Ava Rosemarie. I love them and really enjoyed our holiday today. More to come….

⭐️⭐️💫 There is some good information here and I‘m sure it would benefit me to learn and use it. I found the presentation really smug, though. The author seemed to only use examples where he got it right and others got it wrong. If I understood correctly, he thinks that any compliment or appreciation that doesn‘t follow his format is judgmental and manipulative. I‘m sure he‘d say this is my unmet needs talking, but it bothered me.

“Greetings, Human. We need to talk. The food machine in the kitchen does not appear to be dispensing an adequate amount of food. I request a recalibration and an increase in my daily allotment. Please resolve this issue immediately or I will be forced to escalate the situation and impose punitive measures that may include loudly vomiting on your rug at 3 am. I trust that we understand each other. Have a good day.”

Tamra Can you imagine if cats unionized?! 😼 5mo
Amiable @Tamra Ha ha! I‘d say they already probably have and they communicate telepathically. 😄 5mo

ravenlee To be completely frank, the loud vomiting may happen regardless of any action or inaction on your part. But be assured that if you refuse to acquiesce, any vomiting that occurs WILL be punitive. 5mo
Ruthiella 😹😹😹 Also, it is punitive vomiting, because WHY THE RUG? I have wood floors too. 9/10 times, he runs to the rug first. So many surfaces for easy cleaning and yet…. (edited) 5mo
Tamra @Ruthiella exactly - same with my cat & dogs! Why???!! 5mo
Amiable @ravenlee @Ruthiella @Tamra YES! My area rug covers like 2.5 percent of the floors—why must she constantly puke THERE?? (edited) 5mo
Mollyanna This put a smile on my face, that I sorely needed, thank you. 🤣 5mo

dabbe @Amiable Absolutely! I did laugh out loud, even though I'm sick with a cold! You have the knack for kitty dialogue! 💜🖤🧡 5mo

Amiable @dabbe Once you understand and accept the fact that it‘s the Cat‘s World and we all just exist in it to do his/her bidding, you become fluent in kitty language. 😀 (edited) 5mo
dabbe @Amiable We feel the same way about our GSDs. They rule the house. When we had a trainer (we couldn't walk them without reining them in somewhat), she asked my husband, “What do you do if Pip is in your spot on the couch?“ His answer: “I move to a different spot.“ Yep. They run our lives. 😃 5mo

Perfect for #Caturday, Brown looks at how house cats communicate with each other and us. She draws on her PhD research looking at a feral colony and her own experience as a cat owner. Behavior info was really weak at my vet school, and I‘ve never lived with a cat (I‘m allergic), so this was fascinating. Definitely an enjoyable read for cat lovers!

A practical guide on the topic of sexism at the level of microaggression, where the author offers advices on how to act and lead the conversation when we find ourselves in such a situation, which I find rather idealistic and even naive. What did I learn? That I'm a benevolent sexist. #audiowalks

Audiobook is Scribd original and it isn‘t the Litsy library.

4 ⭐This story is about a family and their two trees. Brita is a little girl who is absolutely positive that the trees talk to each other. Not only do they talk to each other but they‘re friends. Her dad tells her nicely when he doesn‘t believe her. Her sister tells her not so nicely when she doesn‘t believe her. But Brita still believes. And she sets out to prove that she‘s correct. I really liked the intro to this book where the author gives a

LibrarianRyan little bit of information about trees in real life and it just helps push this sweet story into something that will want to be read over and over again. The illustrations are unique mainly because they look like they were illustrated by a child. A good child but a child, so you feel that this is the story of a child for a child. 7mo
