This book isn't in database but I'm guessing the Shetland Library has it.....Because I'm a gardener, when I travel, I'm always interested in seeing how and what other gardeners are growing. Since I'm not going to see in person this year, I decided to find a book about gardening in Shetland. ⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig According to Google there doesn't appear to be much choice. I found and ordered this used one from Amazon. According to the Introduction this book, published in 1976, is the first garden book specifically about Shetland.

While it maybe old, it has a wealth of information covering most all the basics. And it has one of my favorite things a Month by Month List of What to Do in the Garden. ⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig And the most important thing to know about gardening in Shetland? Shelter - "Where none exists, it must be made." Shelter from the winds, the sheep, and the rabbits. ??‍?

Raven Black: Book One of the Shetland Island Quartet | Ann Cleeves

This was the year we were supposed to go to Shetland. I purposely made Raven Black my pick for my January Books and Brews because I knew I would want to reread the Series before we went. And because it's a great choice for January as it takes place starting at New Years and going through Up Helly Aa. We've decided to postpone our trip so instead I will be traveling to Shetland via Book. ⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig I'm a gardener so I searched out a gardening book. And I already had Shetland cookbook. Also have a ton of books on my Kindle.

Crinoline_Laphroaig And then I discovered Shetland Reel Gin. Husband found some in Dallas when he was there on a business trip a few days ago. Haven't opened it yet. Right now I'm just enjoying how beautiful the bottle is.
