This book was absolutely hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. If you like film references, simultaneously embracing and bashing Hallmark Christmas movies, and a irritation-to-easy friends-to-star crossed lovers facing an seemingly impossible situation (not world-ending stakes) that makes use of many a Rom-Com trope, then you will enjoy this book!

H_Eastman Watching Luke constantly challenge his own views on romance, feelings, and relationships was amusing and sweet at the same time. It was a bittersweet contrast to Ellie learning she can actually trust herself and her ability to make decisions for her future. 3mo

This is third in a sibling trilogy, and although they can be read alone, I recommend reading them in order.
Luke Edgewood has journeyed to the European island country of Skymar (fictional), where two of his sisters have met their matches, to work on a renovation project for an orphanage there. He meets Ellie St. Claire, the project manager, who unbeknownst to him, happens to be the youngest princess of the realm. As these two are almost 🔻

robinb immediately attracted to each other and their relationship develops, it seems that their chance at happiness is doomed. She cannot abdicate her duties, he has a business and family awaiting him in the US.

I really enjoyed this story, but maybe not quite as much as its two predecessors, and honestly I‘m not sure why. Luke is a one-in-a-million guy, Ellie is sweet and is working hard to restore her reputation from party girl to responsible 🔻

robinb royal, and Luke‘s sisters provide loving support as well as some hilarious comic relief along the way.
Well-written and enjoyable trilogy. I recommend them all. 4.25/5⭐️

Laughterhp This sounds like a good series! I‘m going to add the first one to my TBR! 8mo

robinb @Laughterhp I‘ve really enjoyed it! The first two include lots of texts between the siblings, this last one maybe not as much. Each have their own distinct personalities. The stories/characters are charming and good-hearted, and I plan to check out the author‘s backlist. This is the first in series, and I‘d love to hear what you think. 😊 8mo
Laughterhp I was going to get on audio and then it said lots of letters, texts, emails and that annoys me on audio. So I requested the ebook from my library! 8mo
robinb @Laughterhp I was first iffy about the text thing…sometimes it works for me, sometimes not so much. It‘s not for everyone and can be annoying for some. But in this case I felt it added so much to the charm/depth and was honestly very happy with it as a device. It also added lots of humor. And yes! I don‘t think this would work well in audio…too confusing. 8mo

Daniel Black put into words the weight black men and women carry, the burden to conform to strict gender roles, and the fear that is felt when someone steps outside of those roles. He also shows the hope for freedom from this burden and fear. #blitsy #lgbtq #queer #family #epistolary

There's just something about how Rainbow writes characters that sucks me in. Beth and Jennifer and Lincoln all felt so vibrant and distinct, and I find the whole concept of this book so fun! I also appreciate how seriously she takes her situations, though. #reread #fiction #epistolaryfiction

“A man‘s history is all he has.”

A father writes a memoir addressed to his son explaining his life and navigating through their family‘s history. It started off a little slow for me, but eventually this poignant novel reeled me in.
