I did a lot of walking today and this was the perfect companion. I even had a lighter fiction audiobook ready to go in case my attention started to wander and never needed it. Part memoir part essay collection, Deray touches on many topics including being on the front lines in Ferguson and the beginnings of the Black Lives Matter movement. His voice is soothing to listen to but I still might revisit this one in print.

A terrific view into Obama‘s White House with quick glimpses at Obama the man through Rhodes‘ career and life. Occasionally a little dry at times, but overall interesting, well written and a testament to Obama‘s term and the legacy of his presidency. #audiowalk #friendofthepod

As a #friendofthepod I knew I would love this book. I thought it had a good mix of humor, inside scoop on life in the White House, and discussion of communication strategy. It probably won‘t appeal to everyone, but there‘s enough here for different readers and tastes. If you like your politics with a side of snarky footnotes be sure to check this one out!
