I lived through the 80s but was a little too young to be completely embroiled in the Holocaust that AIDS wrought. I do remember.
This was an excellent fictional read that brought back the memories.
If you didn't live through this time, you should read this.

tomcat I've checked some other reviews since posting. Several mentioned that they thought the 2015 story wasn't strong enough or that it was a distraction. I disagree - telling the story of the few that survived is just as important. If the 2015 timeline feels more empty, it is. It is haunted by those who didn't make it to the new century as they should have. 5y
