This is such a fun book! I loved Monty so much. This is a longer book for YA. It‘s a lot of adventure and there‘s also some deep/serious issues that are talked about.

pickCan I give a book more than 5 stars? I loved this. It was fun and cute and spit-out-my-tea hilarious. I loved all the characters and the story and it was the kind of book that just brought about this really pure love of reading for me. Like that “wow, reading is awesome” feeling you got as a kid the first time you read a book you loved.

pickI LOVED the story of how being in love with your best friend can be one of the hardest things to do, especially when your best friend is not only of a different race, but the same sex. I'd never considered what a same sex couple would deal with in the 1700-1800s, but Mackenzi Lee depicts it perfectly.
