I just finished listening to Save Me the Plums by Reichl. Decided to start one of those cook your way through a cookbook challenge. Decided to go with Gourmet, it was edited by Reichl. It has been sitting in my kitchen for years and have only used it once or twice. The first recipe I went with was pizza dough. To be honest, the dough wasn‘t fabulous, but I think it was because of bad yeast. I had no other so couldn‘t throw it out and start again.
We tried the salisbury steak in the manga's recipe, IT WAS AMAZING!! 💫💫💫💫💫 five star rating from the smitten kitten! I am excited to try the fried chicken next!
This book is about high school teacher kôhei inuzuka and his student, Kotori Iida, and his daughter, Tsumugi. They have been meeting up to cook together and build friendships between the three of them. If you like food and family, this is your read! This book is a Japanese style manga. (Right to left) my mom and I are going to be making some of the recipes in this book! (Salisbury steak, fried chicken)🤤 i am really excited when we do so!😀
#holidayrecipe plus the attempt that was a total FAIL. I was way too tired when I made these. Too much salt in the cookie, too much lemon in the icing. But they would have been pretty good if I'd gotten it right, so I'll try again when I can!

My husband watched the anime series, and then he bought the mangas, so I just started reading them too. It‘s about a recent widower and his young daughter, Tsumugi. He wants to learn to cook for her, and he teams up with one of his high school students (whose mother owns a restaurant) to become a better cook and make Tsumugi happy. Food reminds them all of fond family memories, and they grow closer. Bonus: recipes with each chapter!
It was OK. Well written. An interesting spin on the detective protagonist. It could be a bit long. Especially in its description of food prep. What I disliked most where most of the characters. Very pretentious. I wouldn‘t spend 5 minutes with these people.
Librarian lady day with one of the best (who isn‘t on Litsy yet 🤨)
Not sure how the culinary forefathers would feel about my dinner choice, but I‘m quite pleased
