I feel as though every interaction between Rhys and Feyre is important and I pay such attention while I‘m reading. I feel bad that she feels she is betraying Tamlin as she starts to fall for Rhys. ⬇️

StayCurious Dude - Tamlin is the villain in this piece! Ok ok calming down…Or at least he‘s not the right guy for her. And he has done deplorable things in his past as well. There has to be another way. Third, who was shooting them with ash arrows? It could be anyone…Tarquin, Tamlin, Keir, Hybern? Lots of enemies. Finally, things are heating up between Rhys and Feyre - too bad thinking keeps getting in the way. Feyre needs to lock that down.

Will Rhys be able to keep her safe in his court?

I can‘t believe the Summer Court would threaten to return Feyre to Tamlin and risk pissing off the Night Court. I can‘t believe that the law says Feyre belongs to him. Could he really mean war over her? ⬇️

StayCurious And I can‘t believe that our book boyfriend Rhys went with Cresseida! I mean - the nerve! How could he do that to us!? Ok, the rational part of me knows he probably had his reasons - you know, keep the more suspicious members of the Summer court happy and all that - but dang! Maybe he wants to see her reaction, to see what she feels. But it also wants to keep the peace. At least until they find the book. Then they'll be teleporting back🤔 Rhys once told that the seasons Courts live by the law, but the other three do not. I don't like the law when she needs to go back. 4d

maich She herself disagrees with some of the laws, if we remember back to the Spring Day court. From the collection of tithes, from the celebration of kalanmai and so on... To be returned to the Spring Court by Summer Court? I don't think they would do that. Rhys would not allow. Also Tarqin has cast his eyes on her, and this could get interesting. 4d

mcctrish Two things struck me, Cala mai is brought up and when Feyre was at it the first time she met Rhysand and was kind put out Tamlin didn‘t get it on with her. The next day Tamlin went on about how he smelled her and it made him insane so now I‘m fretting she will be there this year and shit will go down. I think she has feelings for Rhys and I don‘t want anything to wreck them 4d

#LittensLoveRomance Happy St.Patrick‘s day! Let‘s get our Irish on! Ch.1-3: a funny if embarrassing meet cute between Callum and Katie. It was nice of him to seek her out afterwards. He could have just chalked her up to a crazy lady - and who could have blamed him?! So far he seems like a good guy. But things are bound to get more complicated. As they always do. So far I like the Irish setting and some of the side characters seem colourful.

I was, of course, brought up with dress well and never leave the house in "house clothes", including the awful long apron-coat things that women wore at home to protect their good clothing from stains. But I've embraced the "sloth look" since and don't police my children. (their father does though, they have to stay in the car and can't come shopping when they wear joggers, for example). 5d

Secondly, Rhys definitely knows how to challenge Feyre. But using her as bait? Does that go too far? It worked. And now they have the Attor and can get info from him about Hybern‘s plans. And Feyre was mad enough to use her powers. ⬇️

StayCurious It does make you think: what are the other courts doing during this time? Are they just hoping Hybern forgets about Prythian? Is Rhys the only one working? 7d

Although these chapters were lengthy I was so hooked on learning more about this world and the characters. I love how, for the most part, Rhys is open with Feyre and tells her things. So different from Tamlin. Speaking of - he must be going crazy by now, right? That‘s a hornets nest, for sure. ⬇️

He actually wants her help in the coming war, but he is also not trying to pressure her. He is allowing her to come to her own conclusions about her love affair with Tamlin and what went so wrong with it. Feyre needs to learn how to live again. ⬇️

mcctrish On the one hand I get that Feyre has given enough and if she was happy to just sit around and paint nobody could complain. But she needs to move and be included and not dressed up like a freaking doll. I totally feel that Rhys and Feyre are bonded and the tattoo is just a mark with some magic. But how long can they keep pretending? Feyre is revered by the Fae - she has become a symbol (Feyre Cursebreaker) - I feel that although Tamlin loves her and wants to keep her safe, he is not above using her as that symbol to gain power back over his court. ⬇️

StayCurious The wedding is a political strategy- not just a love match. Tamlin is holding back who Feyre really is. She will soon resent him for it. 2w

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong A challenging case where there were multiple elements to navigate - dirty cops, an avenging killer (also a cop), a crazed villain from Roarke‘s past, marital strife - Eve handled it all as she always does-with grit and determination and heart. She had compassion for her killer-and while I figured out who it was early on, I didn‘t know how things would come to a close. She and Roarke grew closer and weathered the storm.

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong I‘m very sorry for being so late with this check in. Every night this week I intended to catch up and life stubbornly got in the way. We will still finish the book on Sunday March 2. Ch.11-15: Eve and Roarke are fighting and she storms his office to hash things out. He agrees to help her take down Ricker even though he wants to take the bastard out himself - especially since Ricker comes after Eve again. ⬇️

StayCurious Eve bats up against IAB - there‘s no love lost there btw her and the Captain. But she is given the go ahead to continue her investigation. Kohlie was clean and she needs to find his killer - and stop whoever is targeting cops. And she needs to find out what is happening at Purgatory and what Ricker has to do with it. Ricker is losing control and that makes him even more dangerous. (edited) 3w

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR The end of the book was definitely intense. I‘ve got the hots for Rhys now - I gotta admit. He fought for Feyre and tried to help her - more so than Tamlin I think. But Feyre, after her trauma - is with Tamlin. In love and HFN. Let‘s face it - she is not ok with what happened. This girl is scarred. She‘ll need to heal. ⬇️

StayCurious Will Tamlin help with that or will it be her weeks with Rhys that help her? This is definitely love triangle material - which I normally hate in romance but in this case I‘m here for it. Bring it on! I will post a schedule for Book 2 soon for those who are interested. 4w

mcctrish The reels on FB were so focussed on Rhys that I read to the end ahead of schedule so I wouldn‘t get anymore spoilers. I was gobsmacked Feyre and Tamlin left together🤯 Rhys‘ explanation made sense to me re: what he did but I‘m not 100% team Tamlin considering how much manipulation went into pulling Feyre‘s strings to get her to break the curse. Rhys manipulated Feyre too it feels more helpful and less emotional #bringonbook2 4w

She didn‘t want to see him as decent (and why would she, he‘s kind of a jerk) but maybe he has people and things to protect as well. Everyone in Prythian is under a terrible weight and they need the witch queen dead. ⬇️

StayCurious Can Feyre survive her 3rd task, release Tamlin from the curse, set his powers free, and watch as Amanrantha is destroyed? Even if all that were to miraculously happen, will Feyre and Tamlin get their HEA or will Rhysand stand in the way? 4w

As we head intro this next task, will Feyre survive? Or need Rhys‘ costly help once more?

We finally learn what‘s actually happening in Prythian - and it all comes down to one evil lady. Who happens to have the hots for Tamlin. Feyre knows she has to try to save him, and everyone else. Or die trying. ⬇️

StayCurious When she gets to Under the Mountain it‘s like that scene in Star Wars with Jabba the Hutt. Only Tamlin is Princess Leia, bound to the side of the villain, except sans gold bikini. Feyre strikes a deadly bargain to complete 3 tasks or solve a riddle in order to save him. But will she survive long enough? 1mo

Yeah, he seems like a jerk but he knows what‘s going on. Tamlin is still keeping things from Feyre - to protect her or himself and his realm? Can he really send her home? Will she leave her newfound home now that she finally feels comfortable there? She might not have a choice. ⬇️

StayCurious It seems as though things are crumbling around Tamlin and the spring court and Feyre may be his weakness and his downfall. Unless she‘s like the key to everything. So many unanswered questions! 1mo

And he shows her what his world is really like. I feel better knowing that his court is not completely abandoned as it appeared to be. There are many more fairies there than Feyre could see. ⬇️

StayCurious We hear about The Night Court - there‘s no love lost between Tamlin and the Night Court‘s High Lord it seems. What a strange and terrible prank? 1mo

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong Ch.6-10: this book definitely has interesting twists and turns. Another cop is dead and another cop was dirty. Eve knows Ricker was involved. She goes after the goons that Ricker sent after her and when she gets one to flip he dies conveniently. Is Ricker untouchable? Roarke is mad at Eve for going after Ricker on her own, then tethering him when he wants to go after him in revenge. ⬇️

StayCurious I get why he‘s mad, but she probably stopped Roarke from murdering the bastard. Even Summerset agrees with Eve‘s actions😳. Then there‘s the complication with IAB and Webster who acknowledges that Kholi wasn‘t dirty but undercover. Webster needs to watch himself - IAB may come after him for sharing secrets. If he makes it out of Eve and Roarke‘s house alive that is. 1mo

But things are starting to go well between Feyre and Tamlin, that is until Feyre goes against his orders and sneaks out to the Fire Njght. Feyre and her curiosity! She lands in such dangerous situations. ⬇️

StayCurious If that handsome stranger hadn‘t been there…and who is he and where is he from? I‘m sure we haven‘t seen the end of him. And then Feyre has that run in with Tamlin after Lucien tells her what the Rite is. I got an ick feeling that he was with someone else that night and then comes to Feyre with hopes of what? I dunno. My gut isn‘t rooting for these two as much as it was. Even if Feyre is drawn to him. 1mo

mcctrish Tam had to take someone else and was pissed off. He did warn her but Lucien obviously thinks Feyre should be given more information that she gets. 1mo

They aren‘t all the vicious creatures she was warned about - although there do seem to be a lot of dangers in The Spring Court. And who is this terrible lady faerie we keep hearing whispers about? Tamlin seems to be trying more with Feyre. ⬇️

If this were my book, I‘d be luxuriating in baths, food and the library and just avoiding all that danger- it‘d be very boring haha. But that‘s not who Feyre is. She likes to test boundaries. She‘s still working for her family even when she‘s away from them. ⬇️

StayCurious Hoping to save them from the blight. Will she listen to the Suriel‘s advice and stay close to Tamlin or did it perhaps mean a different High Lord? Is Tamlin her future? Will he keep her safe when he seems to be losing control of his lands? Or is she the key perhaps to changing things? So many questions. 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.10,11,12: we learn more about Tamlin-that he‘s a great warrior-and Prythian, and catch glimpses of conversations that tell us things are not great in Fae-land. Tamlin and Lucien are worried and Feyre hates being in the dark. She‘s brave for digging and asking the questions she does. I wouldn‘t have the guts. But where does she fit in? Is there another reason Tamlin brought her there? Why is he running out of time?

She disses Tamlin when he offers her a tour (brave or dumb) and seeks out the foxy Lucien to get him to plead her case with Tamlin. She should have just played nice with Tamlin in hopes of doing it herself - but what do I know. But Lucien sees right through her plan and basically puts a stop to it. ⬇️

StayCurious But every conversation Feyre has with these faeries, she‘s gleaning valuable info for later. They‘re telling her everything haha. She‘s clever - but will it be enough? (edited) 1mo

TheAromaofBooks I kind of forgot that we were starting this one but I am caught up now 😂 I think this story would be so much more believable if Feyre had people she actually LOVED back home. This whole “I promised my mother“ doesn't feel like strong enough motivation for how desperate she is to escape so she can be malnourished, cold, and get back to the people who treat her like garbage. 1mo

I hate her family - I feel bad that Feyre (pronounced Fair-ruh) is taking care of them and feels bound to them and bound to her terrible existence. They‘re useless. I said it. But A promise is a promise and Feyre made a serious one to her mother - ⬇️

StayCurious probably because the woman realized they would die without help. I appreciated the world building the author did - I‘m interested to see where this is going, especially considering how Ch.3 ended. I think we can all agree that Feyre is meant for more than this life. 1mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Sorry for the late post - I missed my cue (haha - get it, because theatre?) Ch.16-end / review — as usual we were led down some dark passages in this one, and it hit close to home for Eve. The victim in this case was deplorable- and Eve ended up feeling for the killer. I thought the twist and reveal was pulled off nicely - Dame Christie would have been proud. ⬇️

StayCurious I liked the sentimental moments between Roarke and Eve, and Eve and Trueheart‘s mother. I think Peabody and Eve grew closer. I think Eve and Nadine grew closer. And I think Peabody and Mcnabb grew very close. Overall, a good addition to the series that helped propel it further. 2mo

TheAromaofBooks We so often hear more about how Eve feels about her evil dad, so it was interesting to think about mothers, especially Eve's. Such a good job showing Eve's personal growth throughout this series as different cases make her face different aspects of her past. And I'm totally hear for Peabody + McNabb!! 2mo
