#LittensLoveRomance Ch.1-2: Haha, what a fun meet-cute for our leads. I look forward to them realizing they‘ll be together for 2 weeks on her retreat. I‘m interested to know more about why her fiancé ended things. I bet she‘d like to know too. So far I‘m intrigued.

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: this one has an interesting start where Eve is called to a case where a man is dead and his lover/killer is awaiting the cops and ready to confess. At first we think this will be open and shut but it becomes more complex and there is the question of justice being served and what is the true motive. ⬇️

StayCurious Also, there is another case that Eve is reluctant to get involved in but finds herself being sucked in: one of her weasels reports that his friend was killed after making bombs for someone. This is probably linked to the creepy prologue. We also get to meet Peabody‘s adorable brother. It‘s great to see her in family mode. But is he linked to Eve‘s case? (edited) 6d
LiseWorks I love that we get to know Peabody more. I just hope her brother isn't involved in getting to Eve because that prologue was intense 6d
TheAromaofBooks @LiseWorks - It's so fun to see another facet of Peabody. I really enjoy how much she loves her family, even though she's chosen to take a path very different from theirs. But if something happens to her brother I'm going to be super upset!! 6d

For the first time in a long time I had a good reading month! I whipped through Megan O‘Brien‘s Talon Security and Ride Series 2nd Generation- I couldn‘t get enough. But I think my favourite read of the month was The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches that I read with #LittensLoveRomance - Hoping to keep up the reading momentum this month.

#LittensLoveRomance Review: What a great book and HEA for our characters. I grew so attached to everyone who lived in Nowhere House, and in the end, even Primrose was growing on me. I‘d love to see more books set in this universe. She has another witchy story coming out next year but not sure if it‘s connected. The writing, the setting, the characters, the real issues - they were all so well done. I highly recommend this book.

mcctrish I loved this book! The world was a lot like the TJ Klune writes which is just the feel good read we need and deserve 3w

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Sorry, I was listening to this on audiobook and I didn‘t realize there were more than 20 chapters - this is the longest in death book so far, probably because of the importance of Eve losing and regaining her badge. I enjoyed the finale of this one, it was - as usual - intense. I hope we see more of Louise in later books (I think we do but can‘t quite recall) - she‘s a good match for Eve. ⬇️

StayCurious I loved seeing the loyalty of Eve‘s group of friends in this book. They really stood by her. She can‘t deny their bond now. If I was Eve I would probably still be hurt/pissed at the NYPSD but hopefully she‘ll get past it. (edited) 3w
TheAromaofBooks I only have the two chapters left, but I have really been enjoying this one! It's quite the emotional ride, and seeing how loyal everyone is to Eve has been great. 3w
ShananigansReads I thought this book was longer than usual but I can‘t depend on my memory. I love the family/support system Eve has built for herself. 3w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.27-28: Whoops, bringing Primrose to Nowhere House was a gamble - they need her for the memory spell but what will they do about her guardianship of the children? I do think the solicitor is the greater danger. A man like that wouldn‘t stop until the inhabitants of Nowhere House were eradicated. But will Primrose separate the children?

mcctrish I blew through all these chapters I‘m afraid to comment out of order 🤦🏻‍♀️ but Mika‘s last meet up with Primrose showed a different side to their relationship. Primrose does care about Mika and is well aware of her strengths and honestly seems to want Mika to take advantage of anything Primroae can do for her ( use the house for instance ) 3w
LiseWorks Was I surprised about Primrose being Lilian s sister? No. Twin, yes! I was surprised that Mika called her to help. That was very brave. 3w
inthegreensandblues The girls animating the bones for Edward is the most hilariously macabre thing I've read in a while 🤣💀 3w
Read4life I agree with all three of the previous comments. I don‘t want to comment too much since I‘ve read ahead. I‘m enjoying these characters very much. 3w

I hope she acknowledges that she can‘t continue to live her life so lonely. Changes need to happen in her life but also in the witch community.

mcctrish Mika still seems clueless to her place at Nowhere House and how anywhere after this will not work 3w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17&18: Jamie came to Mika‘s rescue! I mean - my heart ♥️ The romance in this book is picking up, intermingled with lovely and sweet conversations, between Mika and Jamie and with Ian and Ken, wherein we get to know these characters so well. But what happened with Jamie‘s family? I‘m sure Mika will find out on their little fieldtrip. At least Jamie is willing to bring her along. That‘s a big step for him I think.

mcctrish I‘m betting the field trip is so we learn why Jamie ran away from home at 16. But I did feel weird about Mika being voluntold to take Jamie on 8 hour drive to make it shorter after she‘d just confessed to all the ways she‘d been used by muggles when they learned about her witchery (edited) 4w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.15&16: Thank goodness Mika is on the mend, even if she does look “positively sickly”. So what do we all think of the secretive Primrose? I mean, she was more forthcoming this time but it was like pulling teeth to get the snippets she gave. That‘s not healthy for the other witches. They should be fully aware of their history. Then they can protect themselves and each other. Or at least try. Also, Jamie is starting to *care*❤️

mcctrish I love that Jamie is starting to ‘care‘ for a person who‘s never had someone ‘care‘ so she‘s clueless aka he‘s going to have to work for it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 also Primrose is clueless how little she gives to others and can‘t understand how it‘s impacted them ( like the witches are all dysfunctional now) 4w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13&14: What a crazy scene! Things finally came to a head with the little witch Terracotta. I know she‘s only 8 but that was so dangerous and I‘m glad Jamie called her out on it. Hashtag Teachable moment. Thank goodness Ian knew what was going on with Mika. I love that Jamie is growing closer to Mika by their midnight meetings - but now this event should help dispel more of his distrust of her. Yay b/c I‘m shipping them.

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong Ch.11-15: Boy, what a tough few chapters for Eve. Bowers puts up more complaints and goes to the media with wild accusations. Then she is killed and Eve is suspect # 1! Before she can get over that shock, her badge and gun are taken and she‘s suspended. This is devastating for Eve who feels like her identity is taken from her. Roarke will need to be there to help her through it even if he has to give her tough love.⬇️

StayCurious Eve has certainly pissed people off in her other cases but this killer goes for what matters to her the most. She‘s in for the fight of her life if she wants her career to survive. 4w
LiseWorks I really loved the snow scene with Eve enjoying the snow. It was great. 4w

StayCurious @ShananigansReads yeah Bowers was off her rocker 4w
Librarybelle This was a hard section to read. Thank goodness Eve has friends and family who can support her during this time. 4w
TheAromaofBooks I get that being a cop is a huge part of Eve's identity, but it also feels like she has been a cop for long enough to understand that protocol has to be followed, regardless of personal feelings or opinions. It just seems like she would have a little more faith in the system and its ability to clear her. 4w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.7&8: Oh dear, Ian is going to cause mischief. I wonder what happened to Jamie before he arrived at Nowhere house. And what experience does Mika have with romance? I‘m intrigued by Lillian. She‘s powerful, aloof, self absorbed, but she cared enough to bring those orphans home and to hire three caretakers she may not completely need. I mean - does she really need a librarian? ⬇️

StayCurious I‘d be interested to meet her - but I do think Mika will give her a piece of her mind. 1mo
mcctrish Lillian has to know about Primrose, she‘s off the grid for a reason. She‘s stacked the house so the girls aren‘t lonely like Mika. These things are all in her favour, BUT sending the guy to pick up files just seems careless ( and gives us a story ) so I‘m curious 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.5&6: K, I‘m obsessed with the wonderful descriptions of Nowhere House. I want to go to there. I don‘t think Mika is going to want to leave like she normally does. If only everyone was as welcoming as the house and most of its occupants. Terracotta is a bit scary. And Jamie is broody and grumpy. But I‘m betting their attitudes will change as Mika pulls more tricks out of her Mary Poppins bag.

mcctrish I‘m with you, this house sounds perfect and despite how much the three mini witches need Mika, this house is exactly what she needs ( Primrose is going to lose her shit. ) 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.3&4: There is very real danger looming with the solicitor‘s upcoming visit. I‘m angry at Lillian, the absentee landlord-witch-archeologist-guardian. How can she be so aloof? Those poor girls. And poor Mika - her life is so lonely. I‘m curious if we‘re going to see Noah again or if it was just an example of her cutting ties with yet another someone. ⬇️

StayCurious And how hard will those girls make things on Mika? I hope they recognize a kindred spirit. 1mo
mcctrish I laughed out loud at your graphic, a lovely foil to Mika only remembering loneliness growing up 💔 I hope the shenanigans the trio of terror bring to Nowhere House in Mila‘s honour doesn‘t draw too much attention ( and by that I mean get on Primrose‘s radar which I figure has to happen but maybe not soon) 1mo

#LittensloveRomance Ch.1&2: I really liked the opening to this book and how the author immediately started immersing us in her world of the rare witch. It seems a bit sad and lonely, and it‘s tragic that they are all orphans. But I feel like Mika will be good for these girls and their oddball caretakers, and vice versa. Unless Primrose finds out. I wonder if she‘s a good witch or a bad witch…intrigued to find out!

mcctrish I immediately thought Primrose kept her distance from Mika and the 3 littles basically live estranged from Lillian, does any primary caregiver die? Mika comes from a long line of witches who died, am I going to be sobbing ?! 1mo
inthegreensandblues @mcctrish I like that theory. Though I'm counting on this story to have a happier ending, somehow! 1mo

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong Ch.6-10: we meet Louise Dimatto, an overworked doctor who works at the clinic that saw two of Eve‘s victims. Eve wants her to be a consultant on the case. She also happens to be a top surgeon‘s niece which could be suspicious. Eve interrogates different doctors at a fancy party and pisses someone off enough that they send a droid to warn her off the case.⬇️

StayCurious Looks like Eve is getting under the surgeons‘ skins…she‘s good at hitting the right nerve. There are a lot of suspects this time, and they‘re all in their own little club. It‘s hard to break in. And Eve is still dealing with trouble from Bowers and with her own memories. 1mo
Librarybelle That last scene…wow! Eve is definitely making someone nervous! 1mo
LitStephanie I kind of like that Eve is so rude and ruthless. She would be an unrealistic character if she was full of only shining, admirable qualities. 1mo
LiseWorks Eve seems to have no patience in this one. I like how she is vulnerable and she fights for the little guy 1mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR We dive right into a murder in the start of 2059. And it‘s a nasty one - a homeless man has his heart expertly surgically removed. This peaks Eve and the medical examiner‘s curiosity as the man would‘ve likely died on his own in 6 months. So why take his heart? Eve is going to find out. #LittensLoveRomance Ch.23-end and Review: An exciting chapter and then a satisfying and romantic end. Overall I enjoyed this book though I did have my issues with both Corrie and Ford. Still, the setting was great, there was adventure, it was not your typical romance, and it had several fun moments. I called most of what happened but I do the same in these types of movies - predictable but entertaining never hurt anyone.

BarkingMadRead I enjoyed it, lots of adventure, a twisty ending, a bit of a scare that ended well, I will probably get the sequel 2mo
PathfinderNicole I ended up liking it more than I thought I would in the middle of it! Good adventure and an occupation you really should see more of in romances. Makes me want to rewatch The Mummy! 2mo

Roary47 I also enjoyed this one. 🥰 2mo
vonnie862 I love adventure books with treasure hunting. This one was a fun choice! 2mo
SarahBookInterrupted I felt the same. Not my favourite romance but it was a fun and adventurous read. Enough happened to keep it exciting and engaging until the end. (edited) 2mo
CrowCAH I was about to lose it, if Ford really had died. That definitely would have made the exhibit more bittersweet. I‘m glad at least a couple bad guys got their due- Lance and Crawley. Now for Vantour! This was a fun romance, deeply emotional for the characters, with believable motivation, and lots of archeological conflict. HEA for Corrie and Ford! ❤️ I could read book two: The Temple of Swoon (2025)! 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.21-22: So everything about the investor and the dig was a lie. My question is, was it Ford‘s responsibility to look further into Vautour and make sure things were on the up and up? Especially since he brought on his own people? Man, I‘d feel terrible if I were him, and his self esteem is already low. And now how is he supposed to pay Corrie back? Ugh, what a mess. Two chapters to fix everything! Can they do it?

BarkingMadRead So much trouble all at once! He messed up big time! 2mo
vonnie862 How did he not know? If Corrie knew right away, then Ford should have been aware. 2mo
See All 7 Comments
LiseWorks So here is the thing. How did they manage to be there all this time without suspicion? Don't the research who owns the land, check woth the government? Ford did not do his job 2mo
PathfinderNicole Ford 100% should have followed up but I suppose I get why he didn‘t? He was so desperate to save his mom that he wasn‘t thinking clearly. Which is understandable! 2mo
SarahBookInterrupted That was a great twist at the end to escalate things. I think it makes sense that the “investor” or smuggler went to him because he was clearly desperate. I‘m sure Ford was blinded by his relief that he had a solution for all his problems. Also the investors behaviour makes so much sense now. (edited) 2mo
CrowCAH Gosh things escalated quickly. The thief, fake permit, the real owner of the land showing up. Seems too much to wrap up in two more chapters. 1mo

I understand he had his motives but I wish he would be strong now and work with the others to get out of this mess. Instead he‘s just an angry sad mess himself. I‘m annoyed with him and hope he snaps out of it soon and makes us proud.

vonnie862 🤣 that meme! 2mo
vonnie862 I can't believe he went and found the knife by himself. Yes, the investor threatened him but it was still petty for Ford to do that. 2mo

julesG Perfect meme! 2mo
LiseWorks I think he should have told her about he investors threats. 2mo
CrowCAH Gah he got the knife himself. That goes against many moral codes. He‘s having a pity party. Hopefully he snaps out of it soon. 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17&18: Well - who called the investor being an a-hole? Clearly someone‘s spying for him and my guess is Lance. What do you do when someone who holds a lot of power threatens you and the people you care about? I would want to hide Chimalli‘s remains out of spite haha. Ford‘s going to have to work with Corrie I think to get through this one.

BarkingMadRead Ugh this has me so stressed! This can blow up in so so many ways! 2mo
LiseWorks So that knife the investor wants must be worth a lot of money for him to threaten Ford like that. I was like, "Don't tell him you found him. Don't say a word." 2mo
See All 9 Comments
vonnie862 That didn't surprise me. We had a feeling the investor was shady. 2mo
Roary47 Why just the knife? Is there a bigger treasure that Corrie and Ford don‘t know about? The knife being the key! lol I‘ve watched/played too much uncharted. 🤣 2mo
julesG My mind was going "What shady ritual has this guy planned?" 2mo
StayCurious @julesG right? Seriously why else would you need an old knife so badly. 2mo
SarahBookInterrupted I think he needs to tell Corrie and Ethan. They need to solve this horrible investor problem together. 2mo
CrowCAH Oh no the investor has a spy in camp! Why take the bowl? And there‘s a lot of focus on the knife. What further significance can it have? 1mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.15&16: what a discovery they‘ve made (a sad one I think). What does this mean about Chimalli‘s fate? And who do we think is the wannabe thief in camp? If they‘ve found the remains they‘re looking for, does this spell the end of the dig and the end of Corrie and Ford‘s romance? Can he convince her to continue after they return to “real” life? Will she want to after he spills his secret? Hmmm a lot of questions coming up.

vonnie862 It was a very sad discovery. I wonder where the dig will go from here. 2mo
Catsandbooks I think the thief is part of the investors guys. And I hope Corrie and Ford stay together after this 2mo
See All 6 Comments
BarkingMadRead I have so many suspicions! Is it someone they trust, or someone from the investor? That sketchy guy from earlier who caught them “kissing”? I have so many questions! 2mo
Roary47 What a bittersweet find. I hope the would be thief is no one they know. 2mo
CrowCAH There are so many questions. A sad find indeed if those are the remains of the people they‘re looking for. I think the thief is the investor guy. 2mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR This was a good addition to the series even though it was quick. I enjoyed Eve going up against someone she knew instead of the unsub. It definitely made this case more personal. And more so when Mira was taken. I do think the climax was a bit abrupt though, after such an intense build up. And onto the next! Thanks for sticking with us🖤

Librarybelle For a shorter story, this was good! 2mo
LiseWorks Yeah I liked it. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one - short and snappy with some pretty intense moments. I didn\'t think Mira was going to get killed, but I was scared that she would be hurt!! 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13&14: Okay, maybe Corrie and Ford are growing on me a bit. I did like that Ford is opening up to her and they cleared up one thing from the past. We know Ford is wild about Corrie, but I think Corrie is falling hard as well. But she will definitely be harder to convince when it comes to forming a relationship. ⬇️

StayCurious At least they‘re actively finding artifacts and things seem to be going well at the dig. I‘m waiting for something to throw a wrench into things though. 2mo
vonnie862 I'm not sure if I should feel bad about Ford. My heart ached when he received the call but then I rolled my eyes on quickly he forgot about it once Corrie said she wanted to bang. But hey, at least it happened. 2mo
See All 7 Comments
PathfinderNicole I‘m glad they cleared up the thing from the past and wasn‘t as bad as it seems. I was pleasantly surprised by Corrie‘s reaction to his explanation. She‘s been acting so immature it was nice to see her react well and accept his explanation. And even forgive him. 2mo
LiseWorks I definitely think he should go see his mom. I have a bad feeling about her and about the person who is giving the money for this whole project. 2mo
Roary47 I also really think Ford should go and be with his mom. I‘ve been in his shoes where life has to keep happening when my mom went through her cancer treatments, but I also live down the street and checked on her more than once a week. If he does leave or thinks about leaving is when something bad it going to happen with the dig. 2mo
CrowCAH Throughout all of this Ford is opening up way more than Corrie. She isn‘t giving tit for tat emotionally on this relationship. Yes, she‘s there for Ford, but she has a lot of holdups too. I‘d like to see Ford go to his Mom. Corrie can take over the dig. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.11&12: Corrie sneaking off to go to the new site alone, at night, in the jungle - so impulsive. No wonder she‘s gotten into trouble before. She definitely thinks with her feelings first. Speaking of feelings…and general hormones…it was only a matter of time before we had sexy times inside a tent. But, I do find myself a bit meh about it. Who else is not necessarily falling for this couple?

LiseWorks Lol Mr. I kind of went really? What is she thinking? 2mo
PathfinderNicole I‘m feeling pretty lukewarm about these two also. I love the archaeological stuff but both Corrie and Ford are just not connecting with me. They are both communicating yet NOT communicating somehow which is driving me nuts 2mo

vonnie862 I'm a little annoyed with Corrie. How old is she again? She's acting like she's in her early 20s. Ford is a little meh for me so I hope their "chemistry" picks up. 2mo
StayCurious @vonnie862 yes! She‘s supposed to be 35 but acts much younger. 2mo
julesG I like the archaeological stuff, the secondary characters, but so far I'm annoyed with Corrie and Ford. I know, I gave the book a pick when I first binged it, but this time around I'm not wowed. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.9&10: Well, now things are getting exciting- we‘ve got action, some close calls, and the heat is building btw Ford and Corrie. I‘m glad he is opening up to her - I think he is growing as a character with her help. And it seems as though they‘ve found their dig site - which is great for everyone involved. But I‘m sure the stakes will increase now that they‘ve found something. ⬇️

StayCurious I still don‘t trust Lance or the investor. And if I‘m honest, can I ask if Ethan is up to something or am I just waiting for the other shoe to drop? Maybe I watch too many crime tv shows haha. (edited) 2mo
BarkingMadRead Oh i hope Ethan is on the level, that would be devastating. I don‘t trust the investor, though! 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance: If I was Ethan, I would have been more pissed at Corrie and Ford for getting drunk in the middle of the day instead of working. But maybe they made progress in opening up to each other. At least until that stupid argument over the walkie talkie. Oy. I‘m finding Ford less and less appealing when his jerk side comes out. ⬇️

StayCurious Here‘s hoping they find a promising dig site soon. Not only does Ford need a win to boost his ego, but it would be awesome for him to learn to share with Corrie. 2mo
See All 7 Comments
vonnie862 Yes and no. Ford is the lead of the expedition so it made sense why he needed to be the one to tell the crew what to do. However, he needs to work on his communication skills. 2mo
BarkingMadRead I definitely saw Ford‘s point but he needs to learn to use his words. 2mo
Roary47 I agree with @vonnie862 and @barkingmadread Ford needs to use his words more. Especially, if he is going to be the lead on this dig. I would have definitely been more upset if I was working and my leaders were getting drunk not helping. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.5&6: well, that conversation got real. I‘m surprised Corrie pushed Ford to open up when she‘s got so much pent up anger about him inside her. She needs to flat out confront him about some of the slimy things he‘s done (like taking that fellowship, that dig in Peru…the list goes on.) But maybe she‘s able to put that aside to focus on his needs because she‘s a good person. Better than me haha - I hold a grudge.⬇️

StayCurious Are we finding her a realistic character? I‘m not sure. She‘s adventurous, sexually confident, self aware, a good packer (only bringing the essentials haha)…I dunno. She‘s too good to be true😝 2mo
Larkken I‘ve not read this and am now experiencing somo that it didn‘t fit in my reading plans this month. I‘ll have to pick it up! 2mo
See All 7 Comments
LiseWorks I think she is trying to understand Ford. He has made mistakes. She knows he has taken her digs. Now she is finding out why. Will Ford forgive himself for his behavior? 2mo
vonnie862 Boy, he has issues. He needs to talk to a therapist. 2mo
BarkingMadRead They both need to be honest with each other, I think she‘ll be mad at first but she‘ll respect it. Hopefully. She does seem a little too good to be true 🤣 the lacy bra in the jungle cracked me up, I‘m not gonna lie 🤣 2mo
CrowCAH She definitely packed a lot of extra things! lol I‘m surprised Ethan didn‘t talk to him, seems a better person to have done it. She did take the higher ground and not bringing up her own issues. They are very similar in a lot of respects, so I think that‘s how their relationship is working - mutual understanding. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.3&4: Ford made a pretty costly mistake, picking the wrong place to dig and staying there for 3 months. What do you think the investor‘s going to say when they pack things up and move? Yikes-I wouldn‘t want to be him right now. I agree with the idea of wanting to help his mother above all else, but I don‘t like his idea that his needs “trump” Corrie‘s. That‘s not fair. ⬇️

StayCurious And I bet his mother wouldn‘t like that attitude. What‘s Corrie going to do when she finds out everything? 2mo
vonnie862 It was selfish of him to take the job away from Corrie, but at the same time, I understand why. When one is desperate to help their loved ones, sometime we do stupid things. Obviously, Corrie is going to find out, and drama will ensue. 2mo
See All 10 Comments
vonnie862 Also...who brings a vibrator to a dig? Those tents are not soundproof. 2mo
peanutnine Okay so far I'm satisfied by the portrayal of the dig site. As a former archaeology student, I was a little worried but it's mostly accurate. There's no way an error like that would have happened on a project funded by grants or an institution because they would have had to have a solid argument for digging there specifically. But since this one is funded by a private investor it's a bit more likely 2mo
peanutnine Corrie is going to be absolutely pissed when she finds out he stole her opportunity, especially since it's been hinted that he's done it before. It will probably be the cause of the third act breakup 2mo
julesG @vonnie862 isn't it one of the first things any female scientist would pack for an expedition? Right next to lace underwear? It's definitely essential equipment. 🤣🤣🤣 2mo
LiseWorks Oh dear God the vibratory scene crackers me up. Why would anyone bring that to a dig? 2mo
Roary47 I agree a vibrator to a dig? Ummm no thanks. Ford really took the cake when he took the spot from Corrie. Then he gets her help? At least he admitted he was wrong and they had to move, but yeah investor is not going to be happy. 2mo
CrowCAH I agree. Why bring the vibrator? Ford saw the dig as an answer to his money troubles, without thinking of the consequences to Corrie or the dig team as he wanted to start right away. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.1&2: Already this seems like a fun movie - unrealistic but fun. I don‘t care who you are, you wouldn‘t hop on a plane to Mexico and put your college professor career technically on hold for something that wasn‘t a sure thing. The whole mysterious man in her office thing - very Spielberg, but I kinda dig it - haha…no pun intended.⬇️

StayCurious As for the romance: We‘ll see if I can get behind this I-Lust-You-But-I-Loathe-You trope. It can be a lot of fun if it‘s done well. So what is Ford hiding? Why is his mom at risk? I bet even Ethan doesn‘t know the full scope of what is going on. Interesting. And will the villain be the mysterious investor, his lackey, or someone closer to home? 2mo
BarkingMadRead A fun start, I totally can‘t imagine just hopping on a plane to Mexico with no info, but it‘s a fun start 🤣 the dynamic between the three of them is interesting, I can‘t wait to see how he handles being a self proclaimed douche 🤣 2mo

peanutnine Love this so far! I'm glad it's dual POV so we can see that Ford isn't a complete asshole 😂 Ethan is my favorite character for now 2mo
julesG @peanutnine so hoping Ethan gets his book next. 😁 2mo
CrowCAH Gosh, I couldn‘t just hop on a plane. I guess my only adventurous spirit is in reading books lol I like the dynamic between the three of them. Can‘t wait to read how the romance between Ford and Carrie plays out. Super cool the text actually acknowledged Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark! I can totally see Carrie getting chased by a large marble! 2mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: Immediately on the heels of our last case, during what was supposed to be a well deserved holiday for the team, Eve is called to the scene of a murder of a judge she knew and had worked with. The poor man was brutally tortured and killed and there‘s a list of others the killer is targeting. And Eve and Dr. Mira are on the list. ⬇️

StayCurious Eve immediately knows who she‘s after - a twisted SOB she already put away but who escaped and is seeking his revenge. #InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.16-end/review: I was right about the killer - but only because there were not very many suspects this time. And he did have a flare for the dramatic. I liked this addition to the series especially Eve navigating Christmas and more complexities in her relationships. Was it as intense as the previous book? No, but they can‘t all be like Vengeance. This one built on that book and moved things forward. ⬇️

StayCurious We will next read the novella Midnight in death and I will post the reading schedule tomorrow. 2mo
Librarybelle I agree—not as intense as the last one, but we continue to see Eve grow. 2mo
LiseWorks I love this one. I still cannot figure out why Peabody doesn't like McNabb but he sure has a crush on her. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks @LiseWorks - I feel like Peabody's grudge against McNabb is a little over-the-top at this point. I get that he was kind of a jerk to her when they first met, but it feels like he's proven himself to be a useful and reliable member of the team since then. 2mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.10-15: Sorry for being gone the last two weeks. I didn‘t fall off the face of the earth, I was on vacation and it ended up being way busier than expected. I will finish this book tonight and post the finale tomorrow. My main takeaway from these 5 chapters was the ick factor of the twins‘ relationship- not only is it incestuous, but Piper is majorly controlled by her brother. ⬇️

StayCurious Eve is constantly dealing with events that hit too close to home - but I suppose it‘s difficult in her line of work to escape. She and Roarke are handling themselves well in this book and Eve is being a good friend to both Peabody and Nadine. I have my suspicions as to who the killer is but we‘ll see tomorrow if I‘m right. (edited) 2mo
Librarybelle No worries! I hope you had a great time! I had suspected the twins‘ relationship, but it was still icky to have it confirmed. 2mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17-end/review: Sorry my vacation took over my time this week-I dropped the meme-ball. Overall I enjoyed this book although after the excitement of the beginning it tapered off and didn‘t really pick up again. I was expecting a high energy climax but was a bit disappointed. I did enjoy the romance and the flourishing of the relationships. I do think I‘ll read Effie‘s book - I‘m intrigued enough to keep going. ⬇️

Graciouswarriorprincess I did enjoy this but agree. 3mo
vonnie862 Effie was my favorite character so I can see myself reading his book. Though this book was ok for me, I did enjoy the discussions. 3mo
julesG I think the author tried to write a cosy romance - if there is such a thing. 3mo
LiseWorks Do you think we can put on effed story when it comes out? I'm intrigued by it too. I also felt a little let down by this book. 3mo
CrowCAH It was an enjoyable book 📖 albeit slow, though it did start out with a lot of fun banter with the earls, which kind of kept up throughout. The romance was believable and well laid out. Took them long enough to realize they were meant for each other. Effie was a fun character it would be cool to see him write a women‘s advice column and learn about his lost love. 3mo
Catsandbooks It was slow but I still enjoyed how it all played out! Thanks for hosting! Hope you had a good vacation! 3mo
julieclair I enjoyed this book, even though a few of the chapters were a bit slow, particularly those rooftop scenes. But it was a good, light summer read. I think “cosy romance” is the perfect term, @julesG ! 3mo
