pickThis marks, the fourth Grady Hendrix book that I have read in the past year. I am a fan of horror, movies and heavy-metal so this story was right up my alley. Kris was an amazing protagonist. As the saying goes he‘ll have no fury like a woman scorned. This story did not end the way I thought it would. Yet, the ending was satisfying . pickThat was, indeed, METAL. As much a love letter to a music genre; and a statement on making art, finding purpose, and the dangers of compromise for fame and profit, of seeking comfort over personal fulfillment; as it was a gory, creepy, violent road trip leading to one hell of a final performance.
A good sprinkling of female rage in there, too, as a treat. 😉 1/?
