I just finished reading the first 7 chapters of The Hound Of The Baskervilles for the #noplacelikeholmes readalong.

I made these bookmarks a long time ago and this week, I ordered some bookmark protectors for them and crocheted some tassels for them. I still have more tassels to crochet but I really enjoyed making these bookmarks. I want to get back into it and it would give me a reason to use my crochet thread that I have. The crochet thread that I have now belonged to my grandma who passed away in 2021 and I have her crochet hooks too.

I wish I could have actually done the puzzles in this book because it‘s hard to do on a e-reader but I went ahead and preordered a physical copy of this book from Amazon so I can actually do the puzzles. I would recommend this book if you like true crime and puzzles.

Last night, I was on Netgalley seeing what books were on there and I saw this one about Linkin Park. I‘ve been wanting to read a book about them. I was hoping someone would write one. Someone over at Billboard read my mind and I manifested this book into existence. I‘m so excited. I have a lot of books to read from Netgalley this month but I want to read this one too.

Here‘s how I did on the #fortheloveofbooks readathon this weekend. All of them are Netgalley books. Last night, I started listening to another Netgalley ARC and I‘m almost finished with it. I have 3 hours left in the audiobook. I don‘t know how much progress I‘ll make in the audiobook tonight but it won‘t be finished before the end of the night.

I started listening to this middle grade book last night about a girl in middle school named Greta. I have 3 hrs left in the audiobook. It doesn‘t say what state she lives in but I‘m assuming she lives in the United States. This is a Netgalley ARC that I requested from Macmillan Audio that‘s being published on September 9.

I‘ve been seeing this cozy mystery series on my newsfeed on Facebook. It‘s available to read on Kindle Unlimited. What intrigued me is that it says “The smartest detective duo since Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson”. It looks like it‘s a cat and a dog solving mysteries together. It sounds and looks cute.

This is my reading wrap-up for August. I wanted to try out StoryGraph‘s new reading calendar feature. I really like it. I didn‘t think I would end up reading as much as I did. August was a self care month for me. After Hurricane Beryl hit me in July, I fell into a reading funk but I got out of it.

I preordered these books from Barnes & Noble and I received them in the mail in August.

I‘m enjoying this Netgalley ARC being published on September 3. It‘s interesting. It reminds me of David Attenborough‘s nature documentaries that I watch but that‘s not bad because I enjoy those documentaries. I feel like I‘m listening to one of those documentaries instead of watching it but at the same time, this book is philosophical. It‘s giving me a lot to think about.

Yay! I finished my picks for #bookspinbingo. These were the short stories I read this month for the #noplacelikeholmes readalong.

I started this book last night. I requested this one and the publisher accepted my request. I like it. Netgalley has really great choices on their Read Now and Listen Now sections on their website this month. I‘ve enjoyed a lot of the books that I‘ve read from there this month. I don‘t always want to read the books that are available on there but I‘ve been looking on Netgalley every day this month and I keep seeing books that I want to read.

Here‘s what my bingo board looks like this month. I got a blackout. August was a self care month because I was in a reading funk. I‘m feeling better but now, I only want to mood read and all I feel like reading right now is Netgalley books. Maybe in September, I‘ll have more mood reading prompts since I‘m coming out of my reading funk that I was in plus my priority reads.

In July, Hurricane Beryl hit me here in SE TX and I fell into a reading funk so I decided to make August a self care month and I‘m starting to feel better. I just found out about this readathon and I want to participate. I started a Netgalley ARC last night called Living On Earth by Peter Godfrey-Smith. I was looking at Netgalley‘s Read Now books to see if any new ones were added and I saw this one. It‘s being released on January 1, 2025. If you like graphic novels and have a Netgalley account then check it out. I‘m tempted to check it out myself. It wouldn‘t take me very long to read. Graphic novels are fast reads for me. It‘s interesting that this came up on Netgalley since I‘m participating in the #noplacelikeholmes readalong.

For #pasttensebooktitle, this is the one that I chose. I enjoyed this book when I read it. It‘s about wine and wine tasting. I took a free college class online about Wine Tasting and I also ended up going to a wine tasting in real life with my step mom, my brother and my sister in law once. It was for Mother‘s Day one year. I don‘t remember when it was. I enjoyed it.
