My first bail of 2022. I thought this would be my jam, I love history and alternate history stories, but the author uses many Arabic and other foreign words, and there is no glossary. I have to keep stopping and looking up things like kulliye, which pulls me right out of the story.

2. Germany smuggled Lenin into Russia to disrupt the Czar's government before WWI. If Lenin had remained in exile in Sweden, there would be no communist revolt in Russia. Would the Czars have held on to the country or was their fall inevitable?
3. A change for the worse is almost always more interesting.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

alternate reality which asks "What if The Ottoman Empire won the battle of Vienna in 1683?" What would the world look like today? history of The Ottoman Empire. plot very believable. Characters well-drawn. The Tattooed Man was unique and chilling. page turner. never read Raymond Khoury but look forward to reading some of his other books. recommend to those who love historical fiction/fantasy. thank Bookishfirst.com for a book for an honest review.
An alternative history about what would have happened if the Ottoman Empire had not fallen. Cool world building.
Book two down and three more to go! I'm not normally a 'series person' but I must confess, I seem to be hooked!
