Indian Summer | Joseph Duncan
post image

For nine-year-old Eddie and his mother, who have fled to his aunt's farm in Southern Illinois, Aunt Gene's isolated home is the perfect place to escape an alcoholic father. But all is not well in this idyllic country setting. Eddie and his Ma aren't the only souls who have sought refuge on his aunt's property. There is a dark entity at large, and a man of secrets with a twisted mind and a terrible appetite for innocence.

Around India in 80 Trains | Monisha Rajesh

I saw the author of this book at Cheltenham Literature Festival last week, talking about her new book, Around the World In 80 Trains. I ended up buying both books, they may inspire me to finally get my bum into gear and sort out a trip to my father‘s birthplace in India! Meanwhile, we have gorgeous sunshine and mild temperatures today, a bit of an #IndianSummer!

Indian Summer | Richard Neer

My favorite time of year growing up in the Midwest 🍁🍁. A short period of warmth and coziness between early autumn and harsh winter. Sunny optimistic days and the haunting beauty of fall colors made our hearts peaceful, as we enjoyed a final reprieve before winter‘s onset

TWMAuthor In our travels for work in the past, we loved the colourful spread of Autumn. Here in Scotland, we have two Indian Summers, one in March then September. Strangely enough, for 5 years now, Spring has turned as hot as Summer, temps of 20°C from mid-May. Very mild winters. Sadly, not enough deciduous trees but few golden ones. 4y

Indian Summer: A Novel | Marcia Willett
post image

An Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in Northern America during late September to November. In an article on the US National Weather Service's web site, weather historian William R. Deedler writes that Indian Summer can be defined as "any spell of warm, quiet, hazy weather that may occur in October or November." It is usually described as occurring after a killing frost.

Crazeedi We really haven't had it here yet. Just now getting frosts, so I'm hoping some more warm weather arrives!😉 4y
TheSpineView No frost here yet, but the warm dry weather has been around for a bit now. 4y

Not exactly #indiansummer but the days were too hot and the heat too much for Mersault to bear..

bookcollecter Love this book! Read it both in English & French. I had the opportunity to see a stage version for one character. It wasn't half bad I gotta tell you 5y
erzascarletbookgasm @bookcollecter I shall move this further up my TBR pile 🙂 5y
