This is the first Ishiguro I have read, so I have no idea how it compares to his other work, but I was totally and pleasantly taken in by this novel. A lot is said about the human condition, about the difficult choices we make for the people we #love, and about the nature of love itself. All beautifully told through the lens of our non-human main character: Klara, the artificial friend.

Meal prepping with the #wsirn podcast on and can't wait to dive into a new book. Even before his prize, I was curious to read something by #ishiguro. And well... this cover appealed to me. Seems like a book that might make me cry though...

#theburiedgiant was paced slower then I normally read, but #ishiguro does a wonderful job of creating a novel that moves with the speed of the protagonists. The book was not a challenge to finish because of all the mysteries and quests being sought.

Much hyped in the Netherlands at the moment but worth it. Reminded me a bit of #Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day.

Although the concept setting and characters were great, the pace and story slumped in the middle for me which made it a slow read for me. An ok but sombre read. #ishiguro #theburiedgiant #saxons #fog
