4/5⭐ A satisfying, if open-ended, finale to the entertaining Johannes Cabal series. Some of the exposition seemed superfluous, but the action and intensely dry humor made up for it. Zarenyia is a gift. #bookspin

4/5⭐ Probably my favorite of the series so far. The humor is top notch. Having the brothers play on each other makes for constant entertainment and occasional heartfelt moments. Elements from most of the previous stories come together in this one; I'm excited to see them play out into the final book. It's good to see the difference the events of the series have made on Johannes without losing what makes him such a delightfully infamous character.
3/5⭐ I love the extremely dry humor. The journey of reading this series is just as important, if not even more so, than the destination. That's especially true for this book because the ending falls apart. It completely diverges from the adventure of the first 90% of the story and incorporates elements that aren't built up to or explained.
4/5⭐ If the concept of smartass could be turned into a book, it'd be this one. Delightful. As with the first book I found things that would make me rate this one 3.5 stars (in this book, the tendency to belabor certain scenes and some unfocused asides), but the humor and action bumped it up again to 4 stars.

Picked this to read this solely based on its cover. Can't wait to dive it!
I couldn‘t get more than a few chapters into my #DoubleSpin book this month, so I‘m bailing on it. Maybe I‘ll pick it up again one day when I‘m more in the mood, but for now I‘m crossing it off my TBR. I chose it for a steampunk prompt, and I‘m going to replace it with a Gail Carriger sequel I know will be fun. @TheAromaofBooks
