After seeing this post by @MayJasper about a month back as part of the #CuriousCovers tag, I looked it up and it sounded really interesting so I went out and bought it a couple of weeks back and now I‘m gonna start on it. Exciting!

Read this as a Buddy Read on Litsy and enjoyed it very much. 85 year old Lillian Boxfish was the highest-paid advertising woman in the country. New Year's Eve 1984 and Lillian is on a 10 mile walk around the city meeting and talking with lots of people. She talks about things from the Jazz Age to the onset of the AIDS epidemic, the Great Depression to the birth of hip-hop. This is a witty and sad book at the same time that should not be missed!

Louise I really enjoyed this book. It‘s extra special that it‘s loosely based on a real person. 6y
Prairiegirl_reading This sounds right up my alley. I guess I should move it up on my tbr mountain! 6y
Pamwurtzler I loved that book! 6y
BlameJennyJane I just received this one via eBay and can‘t wait to dive in. I didn‘t know it was loosely based on a real person. Cool! 6y

Loving the beginning of this book--more depth than I expected. First time reading this author, and craving some women's perspectives...not disappointing so far! Like a mix of #adriannatrigiani and #kathleenrooney and dealing with hardship after #WW2 in #philly area...
