Legion and the Emperor's Soul | Brandon Sanderson
Pickpick

These were 2 such interesting stories! Both had very unique, Sanderson esque concepts and magic(?) systems. Whilst short, they were very different in action and feeling, and I would like to read more about the main characters at some point. Very good for a quick and easy read and very entertaining.

-EDIT-

After reviewing the preview excerpt, Macmillan-Tor/Forge granted me a full review copy through NetGalley.

The third and final story did not disappoint! I would have liked it if the part about -spoiler- was explained in more detail, but overall this was a great conclusion to Legion. #netgalley #legion

Legion: Skin Deep | Brandon Sanderson

Good morning! For the #winterstormreadathon I finished 4 books and started that graphic novel in the back. Not pictured is my audiobook Morning Star.

I really enjoyed Legion Skin Deep recommended by @Siannalyn for #newyearwhodis and it was a quick read full of action, mystery and humor as the main character dealt with his many aspects of himself.

Would have read more but had a dinner date and watched Punisher with the husband.

Realized Legion Skin Deep is a sequel but my library doesn‘t have the first so I started it anyways and it stands alright on its own. Recommended by @Siannalyn for #newyearwhodis Having a very ‘healthy‘ breakfast of a latte and Lucky Charms. It‘s only 7 degrees out so I had to put on the dogs booties which was so not fun but funny to watch them walk. #winterstormreadathon

I really like these short books from one of my favorite authors. They‘re quite different from his normal epic fantasy books but I think that‘s what makes them work. It‘s a chance for him to do something new and refresh his brain. This one concludes the Legion stories, which is a little sad, but I think it‘s a good ending.

In the final novella of the trilogy, Stephen Leeds confronts his past and future and questions the very nature of reality. It‘s a fitting final chapter for one if the most unique characters in modern fiction. Fast paced and head trippy, Sanderson manages a finale that is both fun and emotionally satisfying. Oliver Wyman is perfectly cast, since he has many voices living in his head as well, all pulls out all the stops in this finale.

It‘s rare these days that I find something that‘s a great fantasy read and also thought provoking on a moral level. By the end of this book, I was rethinking how people manipulate those around them and how perspective affects everything for a human. Not like the ‘duh perspective does‘ but more of the ‘societal belief structure‘. Yeah.. heavy… LOL
